Get one, anon!

They're less than $3k brand spankin' new.

My local Honda dealer will let you drive out on one with zero miles for as little as $2500 if you got cash.

/dbt/ told me not to get one as my first bike but honestly I love it. It has saved me a ton of money by being my DD to and from community college. The road from my house to there varies from 35 MPH to 55 MPH as far as speed limits, so I don't really need anything faster since I only drive the limit anyway.

I also use it to go to and from the auto parts store when I'm working on my car.

It happens to all the brands that use alloy frames, why do you think KTM uses steel frames still?
To be hip?
Keep blaming KTM for people flat landing bikes at over 80km/h from 20+ft in the air though.

If you reply enough i will supply more examples than you gave of KTM's btw.

1 Series of KTM bikes from 2003 had triple clamp casting flaws which made them susceptible to cracking and snapping. Quite a few snapped but KTM did the recall and hasn't had any issues with that since then.

Pros:
>High quality engine build
>Light weight
>Great MPGs

Cons:
>Slow
>Seat not as comfy as average street bike
>Frame is kinda flimsy compared to oher street bikes

Honestly, look into a GW250. It goes much faster and is more comfortable to ride for long periods of time. It's also around $500-$600 cheaper.

Thank you based WR anon.
You made me go out for a night ride. I rode 2 hours and noticed 30 mins from home that my tail light was out.
Looks like I can't take the bike to work tomorrow then. Which means 5 hours of train rides starting at 6:30 just so I can

>Even 125s and 150s will be topping out at max revs that the engine is capable of, and you'll destroy the engine in a matter of months constantly driving those speeds.

is this true /dbt/? does it only apply to cheap gook scooters or all 125s?

there isn't much point getting a CBR-125 if it will be ded in a few months from going on 50 mph country roads constantly

I'm 18 and live in the UK so it is either a 125 or no bike

you can only ride more powerful bikes when you are 19

personally I might as well ride a 125 on a provisional licence and practice for my full test rather than wait a year and pay for lessons

at least this way I can resell the 125 and put the money towards a slightly better bike like a Ninja 250 or a SV650(or at least one restricted to half its normal power)

I bought a 1985 sabre for $1350 on Saturday morning. It runs just fine, the engine kill switch is a little funky and sometimes you have to flip a couple times or the bike won't start. It fell over in a parking lot and broke the clutch lever and something to do with the fairing so it's not on but the fairing itself is fine it's in my garage. I love the thing and it's fast as shit. My first bike before this was a 1985 honda magna 700 and it was fun for a year and a half until I got this. I'm pretty happy with it

Any dual sport above 400cc , drz400 , xt660 , xt600 , dr800 ,klr ....even a wr250 could do that correctly , if the highway part is really long and boring i recommand a two cylinder rather than a one , africa twins are great , also a windshield is a good thing in winter

Due to time constraints I haven't been able to go any further than this on the CBR.

I removed all the fairings and got the speedo/odo outta there. The fairing bolts are all on the verge of being stripped, and some of them were already replaced with whatever bolts the PO had lying around. Also there minor things everywhere setting my autism off, but they're details.

One of the owners did take care of this thing, note that the top end, crank case and crank case covers all have different colors, but lately it has been horribly neglected. I think I'm just gonna have a go at wemoto and get myself every single consumable this thing uses and revel in my motorcycle based financial ruin.

>>14094407

It depends. Wutchu got? I'm open for anything except wr125.

The problem with the dashboard is that the speedo does work, but the odo is stuck. I'll see if it's fixable without too much witchcraft later, I hope it's only something loose or that sort of defect.

During my childhood my mom had late 80's Passat. The plastic that covers the dashboard smells exactly the same as the plastics on that Passat smelled like some 20 or so years ago. Every time I do something with this bike it feels like time traveling. Even with all the problems and work left I'm already getting attached to this piece of crap.

Yeah, in a racing environment it's a pain in the ass I guess.
But if you're not racing it, you can put some more miles on it before doing the services, so it's almost like any other "normal" road bike I would guess. We'll see.

hey quick quewstion, ride a yamaha yzf r125 and a few days ago was out for a ride in the rain and everything was perfect till i got to my street and the bike felt like it cut out and shunted me forward but then went straight back to normal, going around 7-9 mph in first gear. any idea what could be wrong?

Everything is mechanically sound but when plugged in it just won't go. I wonder if the little eletrical motor that moves the thing got rekt.

I'm gonna clean all the contacts, shower everything in wd40 (call the cops) and pray to the squid god it works.
