They've swapped out their muffler for one that barely muffles anything. The exhaust system makes way more of a difference than displacement.

I hit my right shoulder pretty badly against a wall while crashing once and it hurt horribly for about 2 weeks. I went to the ER but had nothing, they just told me to take ibuprofen and chill, it would heal in time.

Hi guys,

So a guy did an illegal u-turn in front of me and totaled my bike. Now I need a new bike and am unsure of what to get.

I ride a 2009 r6s.

Commute about 50 miles roundtrip every day. Half of that is lane splitting through narrow lanes, the rest is easy highway cruising at 80mph.

I loved my R6 and it was not uncomfortable at all, so I am not opposed to get another one. However, I have been itching to get something that is more of a tourer and gets better gas mileage. The r6 at times had way too much power for just lane splitting down narrow streets, but it was plenty for the highway when I needed it.

I have been looking into:
R3- maybe too small and slow for highway use, great mpg
fz6r- affordable :), detuned and only 60hp, wtf. :(
fz-07- seems like a better alternative, decent price, decent performance
fz-09 nice, but i'm not digging the price

cbr, can't really find any for sale near me.

I am thinking I might have to go to a dealership and get a loan, since I need transportation asap and don't have money saved up to drop on a private transaction. Who knows when I will get my check from insurance.

Depends. I've found that the DR350/XR400 bikes are decent for what they are. Not too little, and not too big. Just small enough that it's not a bull in a china shop for new offroad riders and just large enough that you can do 70mph on the interstate if you're geared right.

Make sure the valves have been done. Ducatis are not known to be reliable. As fun as they are, and as cool as they sound, they tend to break a lot.

If you really want a high maintenance literbike, go for it. The 1098 performs well and is very fast.

Does anyone have experience with a CBR 600 F4i?
I'm looking to buy a dedicated track bike, a Japanese, 600 sports-bike with fuel injection for less than $4000 AUD.
Because the F4i received fuel injection before the other three there's a lot more around in my price range, my only qualm is that the F4i has a reputation as a more road focused sport-bike when compared to the other three and the latter 600RR.
Is the difference noticeable enough to warrant waiting for something else or am I splitting hairs?

I work away at sea for half the year so I figure I'll be lucky to get this thing to the track six times a year. Carbs have a tendency to get "gummed up" so fuel injection should avoid this problem.
