If you can't bend the plate, look online for a metal bracket replacement. You could even go to your local hardware store and pick little metal brackets and see if those work.
Or if you have the tools, just fab a few up.

Enthusiasts here don't modify cars beyond OEM , they maintain them, care for them, and drive em hard once in a while, Buying shitty ebay parts and tuning shit will get you death stares here.
