ayy, D5 here. haven't been around this thread since I sold the pos but thought I'd pop in to say something funny happened with it. The guy I sold it to must not have transferred the title because I just got a letter in the mail saying it's been impounded.
I actually wouldn't mind having the car back but the impound lot charges $125 + $25 a day and it's apparently been in there since September despite me getting the letter like 2 days ago.

yes, but just my daily driver, a boring 2005 rav4. I haven't had anything fun to drive in the past 4 months or so cause I've been out of work. I just got hired at amazon though so hopefully I can get something again. Probably will go after another honda because I really had fun with the del sol.

Just wouldn't make sense to sell the FG2 over the CRX(s). I sold the CRX after driving it for over a year (not counting the time it was in pieces) and bought a foxbody as a new project car. The CRX was awesome but it really needed a different engine considering the D15B6 + HF transmission had the car at 3k rpm of a 5k redline at 60mph.

I'd recommend keeping it that way, or at least keeping all stock parts (The intake/ECU, the stock exhaust might as well get tossed) if you decide to spend money on aftermarket parts.

OEM parts hold there value better in the long run.

No one wants to buy a titted out Honda unless they're 1) idiots that know nothing (GREAT source of money, just don't spend more one mawds than you can make back*), 2) idiots that spend to much time figuring out what's wrong with the mawds, and 3) people that just want the mawds for parts.

So I'm stumped on my DC Integra. Its been running rough for awhile now, rough idle, black smoke shooting out under a load, and fouling plugs. Its obviously getting too much fuel. I've done just about everything:

-TPS
-MAP sensor
-Timing belt
-Plugs, wires, cap/rotor, even a new fucking coil
-Valve adjustment

The injectors tested fine and its throwing no codes. My (very good) mechanic said it has to be something with the ECU. The car is chipped and modified, hopefully the people that did the chip have an extra ECU laying around to plug in, to see if that's the problem.

Any other ideas as to what it could be?

Never flush anything, including radiator, even if it's aluminum you could have raw metals that aren't coated exposed to oxygen and that's when shit starts to corrode, same with trannies and engines. It's honestly best to just drain and replace.

So, I bought this 2000 Prelude Type SH a week or so ago and I'm fucking in love with this car. The last guy who owned it fucking mexican'd the SHIT out of it and ghetto rigged so much shit, but I've been getting rid of it all and fixing shit up pretty nicely. The only problem I have now is that I need to replace the Idle Air Control Valve and get a new CV Boot, along with other shit, like the paint. The last guy literally spray painted the fucking car black. You can see it chipping into the old color, blue, on the front bumper a bit. Aside from that, I love this car so much. The ep3 5 speed is the strongest k trans. The people I said are running 9 flat run stock k trans but they go through 2-3 a year. If you're considering the price of a wavetrac then you're heading in the right direction. Wavetrac>Mfactory but both are good and both hold over 850hp while the wavetrac has been known to hold SpeedFactory Civic power (i.e. 1400hp). My car has Mfactory and it locks up great. If you've never drove a high power FWD be prepared for dips in the road surface to pull it towards the low side. All motor K24/K20 ITB should be fine though.

Like I said in another thread, my carb'd EW1/D15a1 12v SOHC with a 3bbl Keihin makes more power, and it's 5 years older, and lighter, get's 45+ MPG etc etc

I've compared the two because at the time that I had my Prelude, I also had the chance to buy a 240sx.

It was a 1989 240sx with a rebuilt KA24DE from a 1993 and that replaced the single cam. I thought it was okay, if it was a CA18DET, that would have been the massive selling point, but I think that the KA24DE is a brick of an engine compared to its counterparts from different countries (SR20, CA18, etc). This car was a hardtop, however the handling seemed dull (mostly OE replacement suspension parts) and dry noodle like. Body roll is somewhat apparent, but that's been the case for ever stock S13 I've driven. Right around the same time, I had bought my Z32, so I was doing my comparison to the Z and my Prelude. The Z chassis is a much more solid chassis than the S, I think. I can't imagine a vert after a hardtop.

Compared to the Prelude, the Prelude handles better. What it lacks? The power. The B20A5 vs the KA24DE in power is a loss, and I believe so is the B21A1. I prefer the styling of the third gen as well compared to the S13. Of course, it's similar to the Z32, just not space ship.

I'd like to point out that Preludes are relatively more inexpensive than a 240sx as well. Rice/RWD tax is a bitch.

Prelude was a 1991 Si 2WS with a D2J5 swap, also had some rust holes.

It would be easier and better to just drop an H22a in. The B20a is a different engine line than the B16-18, and even B20b/z. The original B series was a DOHC A series.

The only appeal 240s have to me is high potential for modding, even then people don't use them to track because they aren't very good track cars without dumping tons of money.

It's difficult. What you do is swap an F20B, the lord and savior of Honda engines. It's the same as an H swap, but with OBDII. Well worth the money, that red Prelude in that picture has a turbo F20B. F20B and H22A make similar power, but F20B doesn't have FRM and is 11.6(??):1.
