There's a bit of a dilemma right now.
Upgrading my license is only possible either before Christmas or after the 2nd of January.
Now to take the test it has to be over 7 degrees Celsius.
The chances are there that the weather fucks up and goes from 8 degrees (right now and max temperature of 10 degrees planned for the next 10 days) to under 5 or such.
If that happens, the test will not be done, but I would still have to pay the 90 euros.
Should I risk it or wait almost one complete month again until I can do my A2?

Love,

What kind of bureaucratic sodomy is that o_0. In here if the weather is foul, they either relax the requirements (e.g. slower stopping test speed, shorter city driving) or just schedule a new date under the same payment.

OTOH, better than here, where they stop any tests from October to March altogether, regardless of weather, because AFAIK, they don't have insurance for that period. Had my test scheduled on 1st October, got sick and now i have to wait till the April :(. Probably will have to take some lessons again too, since getting rusty.

So yeah, waiting one week is no big deal. Save those 90EUR.

For anyone in Australia, avoid Riide. The gloves were a great price, but it took the place almost two months to send them to me and communication was spotty at best.

The stores here are usually pretty on the ball, Dainese is tricky to get at times but I've been lucky in the past. Only took a week to get my Newater and TRQ-Tour boots.

These gloves have been a nightmare though. I originally tried in January, found out the Full Metal had been discontinued, but the D1 wasn't coming out for six months here. Tried again in July when they came out only to find that Cassons (the Australian distributor) outright refused to order them in nero/nero/nero or small (even at that price point).

Finally in October Riide would get them since they don't use Cassons, but the original time frame for getting them got blown right out to two months.

To be fair though, it was worth it, these gloves are phenomenal. How long did it take to break yours in?

I need to get some pants at some stage. I'm in Australia, so I'm using Draggin Jeans (the Australian Draggins). I want some leathers for the track and touring though.

>when i get new gear im going back to rev'it, much better fit on my biceps.
Yeah I'm only 5'6 or so, the Dainese slim-italian fitment is perfect for me.

Their Air Frame jacket is pretty much the only mesh jacket that is usable in the heat here too, half the riders I know seem to own one.

Not worth it to risk it, you probably won't be able to buy and ride a bigger bike until January anyway. Wait until the weather is good again (maybe even until March because fuck it, it's not like you need that license before the SEM), save up monies and get a meme bike.

dainese is just bullshit tight on them.

>>14016133
>How long did it take to break yours in?
the pinky took for ever cause of the armor.
what i did is soak the tight and hard spots in alcohol while making a fist.
i watched TV while i waiting for it to dry, after that i hit it with some leather oil and cream so the alcohol didn't dry out the leather, thats an important part, dont just do alcohol.

or you can do the Troy Bayliss technique put on all your gear and jump in the pool. water will also help loosen up spots.

Yeah their fitment seems to cater to a really specific body type. I'm around 5'6 and 130lbs, so it's perfect for me.
>that power to weight

I'm not in a hurry to break them in really. My commute it forty five minutes each way. I knew the pinky would take forever, it's really weird for me though. My old gloves were just about to hit three years old. There was pretty much no pre-curve on them anymore.

>Picture
That you? I want to get a new jacket at some point. My Air Frame is a size 48 and fits perfectly, I got my leather jacket when I was new to it all and didn't really understand fitment and sizing. It's a 52.... Great it winter since I can throw a hoodie under it, but yeah.

Not sure if I want to grab another of those casual looking jackets and have one that fits perfectly, or if I want to keep using the big one in winter and get something more track-oriented and perforated that I can use instead of mesh in the mid-season weather.

The Full Metal love is killer. The thumb feels SLIGHTLY too long I think it might be tension in the palm though, but once it relaxes it should fit perfectly.

I rode home with them and it definitely felt really weird. My throttle control felt completely out of whack.

>>14016178
I'm jealous. Dainese isn't really common here. A lot of people refuse to pay the premium so since stock won't move quickly stores don't keep much if any on hand.

>>14016181
Haha yeah, paying the Dainese tax then not being able to use the gear would get anyone into the gym in an instant.

I'm a little worried about it too. I had a brain hemorrhage when a car hit me in August and I don't get hungry anymore. If that ever comes back I'll probably instantly put on 20-25lbs (what I lost from the accident).

It's not as nice as it sounds. I don't feel hunger at all, but I can still end up feeling sick if I forget to eat for too long.

I pretty much eat to the clock now, but I don't snack or anything like that anymore. Originally though I wasn't really aware of it, I'd be feeling sick and realise I hadn't eaten for three days.

I get what you mean, I used to have a bag of potato chips open if I was sitting at a computer. I still have a bag around from time to time, but generally I don't see any point now.

I eat a lot of pierogi and stuff like that now. It's hard to eat full meals when you aren't hungry so stuff like that is the only way to get a decent amount of food in.

the voice transponder thingy messed up so half of the time i had no clue where i needed to go + some shitty decisions i made. Its really bad since i rode fine outside of the test. Having a guy following you that grades you on how you ride is quite nervewrecking.

Any of you anons tried RS Taichi as an alternative?

I have a pair of their leather gloves and they're fantastic once broken in. Had them for well over a year with no signs of disrepair.

Have a couple of friends who have their jackets as well and love them. From what I've heard it's much easier for their dealers to get stock and quality seems to be on par with dianese.

honestly i'm not that worried about it in my area. it never gets too cold here so at worst, i'd just put a hoodie on underneath.

I just don't like shifting up without the clutch, id rather wear clutch plates than the gear box when it comes to that haha, also i need to gear my bike down with a smaller front sprocket and bigger back one, atm it would do 220km/h on a long enough straight.
And that really is the question, it would not give me any more power it would just take maybe 2kg off the bike and make it sound a bit nicer.

You can use clutch and not rev up a bike like you do. You just need to:
>Pull in clutch (press up a gear at the same time)
>take away throttle
>release clutch and turn the throttle on at the same ime
Its just a matter of feel, and you need to be fast as shit..
It takes some time but when you master it, daaamnn...

Good clutchless shifting causes pretty much no wear at all. Unless you're talking about just bashing it through the gears?

If only it was actually faster than just using my clutch.

Barely get the chance to clutchless up now though. The brief moment of throttle puts me like 20 over the speed limit.

Also, practice your clutchless shifting as well. I tend to clutchless all upshifts from 2nd onwards, and clutch all my downshifts. But it's a good skill to have in your back pocket, never know when a perfect clutchless downshift will come in handy.

The only thing that stood out in your video was you stay in the throttle just slightly too long when you bring the clutch in. Can hear the engine briefly free rev.

Only if you're clutchless shifting badly, it's smoother and faster than using a clutch otherwise. I learnt on an MC22 which revs out to 19-20k. You'll be fine.

If you hit a false neutral you probably didn't push the shifter hard enough. Look into clutchless shifting, there's a technique to it. You're not bashing through the gears.

My litre bike will rev higher than that, it's not a big deal.

Like I said, clutchless shifting is a technique, you're not going to be smashing through the gears.

If it heats up enough to expand the coolant and doesn't have an overflow it'll puke the coolant.

Tbh, think you're asking for trouble if you want something reliable. If you want a project bike then it might be a fun quirk to fix.
>>
So the pipes for my antifreeze are starting to corrode and leak coolant. What are my options?
They're 30 years old so pulling them out and replacing the o-ring is almost undoable.
>>
>>14017377
Oh i should say they are corroding where they meet the engine heads.
Already leaked about 4 tablespoons of coolant over the course of 6 days, when the engine wasn't running.

When the engine is running the metal expands and reseals itself but fuck.
>>
>>14017399
Only going to take a pothole to snap them and piss coolant everywhere. Best get them replaced lad
