See your generic bike at RPM 1k and let's say 7-10k.

under 7k, way less power, . the Powerband is between 7-10k. after 10-12k, getting less and less power again

So for optimal performance you need gears to stay between 7 and 10k RPMs, that's where the most power is.

With an electric motorcycle you have almost identical power at 1k and 10k rpm. Since you have the same power there is no need to include gears to stay in a certain RPM range.

So it's better for weight reduction and maintenance to leave gears out.

No, you misunderstand. There was a guy that bought a car, completely within his means, private vehicle, has nothing to do with the military. They made him take it back because they thought he couldn't afford it.

You have to take MSF to ride on post, they didn't want to let me do it because "all I had was a street legal dirt bike", I had to sneak around to get into the course. You get to make no decisions. None. It's not a good thing.

Also from what I have heard most militarys are similar, maybe not as bad as the US but all have a heirarchy that has to be maintained by making and enforcing stupid rules.

Aside from the long hours, that sounds like 90% of jobs. I worked for an insurance company for a while, managers were mostly dillweed asskissers or daddy's boys. No criticism was tolerated, and I saw two people dismissed for being vocal about their disapproval of management decisions. Not to mention the favouritism and "diversity" and "inclusion" shit you have to deal with. No one is promoted based on merit or character, they're promoted based on their ability to brown-nose and if they're the right colour/creed/race/orientation/etc.

Shooting rules sound like standard SOP bullshit: in a company they have ONE way of doing things, that's how you do it. NO deviation.

I got to make decisions, which were then passed on to three other people who usually changed them 10 times anyways.

And I never got to ride a dirt bike either.

While I agree with that somewhat, it's different in the military for a few reasons. Most important of which is that if you fucking hate it you can't just quit. Even when they were downsizing like crazy and kicking people out left and right, they wouldn't let people leave that wanted to. It is kind of similar in contracted jobs, but even then there is a way out that doesn't land you in jail.

I am doing the same thing now that I did in the military, and I get paid for my overtime, don't have to clean bathrooms or do conex layouts every other day, don't have to wake up at 5:30 am to work out, hell don't have to work out at all if I don't want to, don't have to wear a uniform, etc etc. It's just better in every way. Oh and I make more money.

The military is a good stepping stone for a career both for the GI bill and experience [unless you do something stupid like any combat arms job that has no civilian equivalent], and for some people who don't know shit about the real world or whose parents never taught them about authority, it gives you a taste of what it's like and instills some discipline.

There was one guy that went and saw a shrink and somehow got put out really fast with an honorable discharge. He wasn't crazy or have PTSD or anything he was just a lazy fuck who was always causing trouble. Whatever he told them was perfect, because if you aren't crazy enough, they won't kick you out they just make you see a shrink occasionally. If you are too crazy [tell them you want to kill people and shit] they can call the MPs on you or get you UCMJ for threatening people etc then you get a dishonorable or other than honorable discharge.

The easiest way is to get fat, get an other than honorable or general discharge, then repeal it to an honorable. But then you have to be fat, and pretty dedicated to it because there are weight control programs.

What did you have? I was issued with an S10 when I joined but moved to a GSR a few years ago, they were a huge improvement, not least because you don't have to hold your breath and purge when you change filters.

Mostly initial testing requirements, we have standardized testing, kind of like your ASVAB. We don't have an initial physical test (like an obstacle course), but a doctor will basically tell someone if they can handle the basic training or not. A lot of people are physically unfit too. Our military doesn't really do a good job of recruiting people either, we've had Liberal governments for so long and they spent their tenure demonizing/downsizing/destroying the military. We've developed an entire generation of fat, weak, overly-sensitive peaceniks who suffer from some kind of "mental illness".
