Hey, /dbt/. I posted about a red VFR a while back that I got for 600 bucks.

Y'all asked for pics and updates. I don't have any pics right now (Accidentally left my phone at home) but i do have updates

1990 Honda VFR750F
>windscreen covered in Puerto Rican flags and Boricua stickers
>previous owner said he got it from his uncle
>it hasn't been on the road since 2007
>it was in storage since then
>its been dropped so the entire rear fairing is held together with Gorilla Glue
>bent right handle bar, clutch handle, brake pedal, and gear shifter
>also had underglow/fairing lights wired into the harness at one point.

I got to work on it yesterday, and here is what has happened to so far

>starter relay went kaput
>go to replace and find a bunch of frayed wire taped shittily together
>remove and piece together what I can
>get new relay in from a CBR
>try to start, but the lights only come on when the start button is pushed
>nothing in the ON position

I may have to replace the ignition fuse. also, the rear subframe is bent and needs replacement. Carbs should be cleaned, and throttle cable lubed and tightened.

should I just turn this bike into a streetfighter? The rear fairing needs replacing anyway.

Its worse than that, by a lot. The bike pictured there with the 6.5kWh battery is rated to last 37miles traveling at 70mph on the highway. If you constantly accelerate hard and give it the electric equivalent of WOT you can drain the battery in 20~ miles.

It's just hooked up to a manual switch. May do a temp switch when I rewire the bike but this wiring was already on it. Supposedly they help a lot, it moves quite a bit of air but is disappointingly close to the fuel tank so we'll see. Later on I might move it up a bit so it has more space behind it to move air and make a shroud so it pulls from the whole rad.
