Yep, my city is crawling with them because it seems every night is a house/disco/techno one atm and they draw in the most twatty freshers. Denis Sulta (although I don't really rate him as a DJ anyway) was one of the worst nights of my life. Newcastle is pretty average I guess. It's better than most cities but severely behind Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield etc. Seems like every night that is around these days is techno, house or disco. To be fair, there are actually some really good nights out of these. For example, we've got Juan Atkins, Objekt, Willow, Space Dimension Controller, Volvox & Umfang, Octave One etc. but then you have loads of shite tech-house nights (Patrick Topping is a god amongst the students here). We've got Etch (the absolute madman) playing but in terms of bassy "'nuum" music you've only got the usual terrible jump up/bassline nights. There are some really nice people putting on nights, some really interesting venues and collaborations but Newcastle doesn't feel like it's anything special, even if all you care about is house/disco/techno.

Check out Pretty Pretty Good, they're running some great nights in Leeds/Sheff and yeah, that No Bounds festival looks insane.
