I need recs, I really like the genre, but most of the releases I find are same like all the rest. I love Darkthrone, Sacramentum, Master's Hammer, Dissection, Drautran, Ulver, Immortal (only heart at winter), and some other less recognizable here, but the modern stuff is either the Hordalands album, trying too hard and failing like Ruins of Beverast or Nargaroth, or complete 2nd wave replicas, like you probably know.

It depends on the person and the context. I've always had an apprehensive disposition towards the term growing up, as well as an adult, but that's just me. I'm just sensitive to harsh language. If my hetero friends use it, it hurts me inside, but I quickly get over it because I understand that it's just their diction. My boyfriend uses it all the time, and jokingly through irony, so I don't necessarily see it as being used to represent gay people in casual circumstances. Overall, it's a very dynamic word, as with anything in the English language.

What are some good black metal bands with a strong sense of rhythm? It might be hard to explain what I mean by "rhythm" here, but most bm bands sound loose and amorphous to me, just playing boring chord progressions and shouting randomly. The only band I can think of right now that really has what I'm talking about is Inquisition. Dagon is a master of vocal rhythms. Can someone help me out here? Thanks.

yeah i listen to a lot of different stuff now. ive gone from metal to electronic which expanded to literally every single type of electronic genre.

Then ive listened to ambient, OST's anything really.

I used to listen to metal exclusively. I used to be so excited to find new bands.

now i really have to be in the mood for it. Still there was nothing like being fully into metal, really felt like more than just music. I guess thats just feeling like part of something.

Ride for revenge sounds good. At least i found one good band out of this.
