After holding my guitar for two weeks to do a simple restring (yes, I should have done it myself) I got my guitar back, and these are the worst-sounding strings I have ever heard, and I'm not exaggerating. Toy guitars sound better than this. The strings are so flimsy I can push them until the fret without even trying, so that it forms a little "valley" if you will on the string. The strings rattle when I don't fret. What do I do? Who do I talk to about this? I could have bought a pair of better strings for 6 dollars cheaper and done it myself and been far more satisfied. Am I just screwed? I can't find anything on refunds and I cannot afford another pair of strings.

I've been learning guitar for 2 months now and I feel an urge to buy a pedal. Or a few. But I'm a cheapass so I'm looking to keep it affordable.
Was looking at a behringer SF300 for that electric wizard sound. But I guess I also kinda need a reverb at the very least and those seem expensive.
Other option that may save some money is getting something like an iRig HD2 and fuck around with all the pedals I want in AmpliTube. And then maybe get real ones down the line when I know what I really need.
Any advice?

Divide it into sixteenths, every second sixteenth is an upstroke.

Alternatively, they're all downstrokes because they're palm muted - your choice.

You can decide which one is upstroke. Usually riffs with palm muted sections are played with upstroke (normally from down to up) as it sounds better but if you have unmuted pedal points as in this it's cool to play them as downstroke (i.e. up to down) to get sharper sound. You decide the way you play it but in metal it's good to decide how to play it as it sounds tighter that way.
