Heya folks! I really want to start recording my music soon. I've recorded a few songs but they've had really bad quality. Do you have advice? I have a snowball mic, les paul epiphone, a shitty bass guitar, and some yamaha edrums. I have a small, old fender amp and a good 300 dollar bass amp
If you get an interface you can just record the guitars and electronic drums directly into the computer with a normal 1/4 inch guitar cable.
This is the cheapest option that I can say is probably pretty good. I had this, but with more inputs.

That broke, and this is what I'm using now (I actually got this a long time ago as a Christmas present but didn't know what the hell it was). This works fine too.

You can probably pirate or buy some decent amp modeling software to get a better tone than the plain DI signal, and then just watch some tutorials on basic mixing and fuck around in whatever software you use until you get it (or hire someone else to mix it).

Buy better equipment. Your shit is always going to sound lo-fi if you're using lo-fi equipment. At the absolute bare minimum buy a real vocal mic and a SM57 for your guitar cab. The bass and drums can be recorded directly with an interface. Make sure your recording environment is clean and dead with good isolation.
