Pic related. Aria CS-350 (I think). Pretty ok Japanese PRS style guitars. I refinished this particular one, as I had it out in loan to a friend for so long I forgot about it. 10 years later I got it back and it was trashed. Fun refurb project

>>74216395
Cheaper in most cases. Pointless to buy the name brand considering it's the same instrument
>>
>>74212912
I know you're memeing but this was where I was this summer. I have a number of "magic" Gibson Les Paul Standards/Customs/etc. but I came back around to quirky cheap shit for textures when recording. I ordered a reissue Travis Bean for the same reason but obviously that's in a different strata than Squier garbage guitars.

There's nothing (n o t h i n g) on the same level as a good Les Paul in a good Marshall but I've come around to the charms of lesser instruments.
>>
so for guys who play live, what do you do for a solo boost?

>>
>>74217867
My years of experience playing guitar is misguided? That's an entertaining notion.

But no, that's the difference between people like you and me, Anon. There are endless lines of small minded losers like you trying to dictate what "is" and what "isn't" to people like me. This is why you're here, Anon. No one cares what you have to say about anything in real life so you come here and put on a mask of anonymity because that's the only option you have. Only problem is sometimes people like me come around and fuck you in the ass with the truth every now and then. I can imagine getting bitch slapped in the only place anyone ever pays any attention to your retarded garbage smarts like a motherfucker.

So here it is: I wasn't asking you anything because you don't know anything. Your post is all the evidence any reasonably experienced guitarist would require to dismiss anything you had to say outright.

And that's pretty much it. You and I both know the score and that's all that matters.
>>
>>74218672
what was his opinion exactly
>>
>>74217042
https://clyp.it/p3uopgdg
>>
>>74218773
That's my point. It doesn't matter what his opinion is, he wouldn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
>>
How'd that Bean turn out? Been interested in an EGC but funds...
>>
>>74218982
I haven't received it yet. I ordered it about a year and half ago. I don't really care when it shows up to be honest. EGC is swamped with backorders though as I'm sure you know.
>>
>>74219078
Yeah, I own a couple old aluminum neck Kramers and they sound/play great but love to score a vintage TB someday. I was watching that fellow from Kentucky? that was selling aluminum necks through reverb.com.
>>
>>74219200
You know those guitars with the aluminum necks are a bitch to keep in tune, right? Travis Beans were notorious for it, EGCs are even worse. I'm only getting one for recording, I can't image touring with one. I have perfect pitch though, shit like that tends to drive me crazy.
>>
>>74219299
wow you tour with a band and you have perfect pitch? wow
>>
>>74219299
Ive never had any problems with mine, have three of the old Kramer's and they hold tune through a song like any other guitar when playing live. They stay in tune at the house/ studio too about as well as expected.
>>
>>74219343
Yes to both questions. How much does your ass hurt now? Keep in mind your only two options are "a lot" and "am I dead and is this hell".
>>74219393
Kramer's have a very different construction. You can find images on Google, they're not at all like Travis Beans. Straight aluminium necks are all over the place under stage light heat, heat from your hands, etc.
>>
>>74219466
Yeah, I know how my Kramers are different from TB. Weight is more of an issue than worrying about heat from cans in my experience.
>>
>>74210742
How to play guitar like Jonny desu
>>
>>74219528
They hardly qualify as aluminium necks as far as I'm concerned. The thing I appreciate about a TB is that clangy almost ring modulatorish sound you can get so easily. Kramers don't naturally have enough of that sound to justify all the other drawbacks like weight, etc. That being said, you're going to experance less of the tuning problems TBs suffer from because of the way those necks are constructed.
>>
>>74219663
lol youre saying that such guitar sounds different because its not made of wood? top kek pls say youre not
>>
>>74219663
You should watch old Dead concerts, see Jerry playing his TB live you'll notice he doesn't have tuning problems with tuning while playing 30 min songs.
>>
>>74219722
Didn't think you'd go with "am I dead and is this hell", Anon. That's a brave level of honesty.
>>
>>74219749
I don't need to watch anything, I've experienced it firsthand.
>>
>>74219799
Right..ok good luck with that.
>>
>>74219814
I mean, I wasn't asking you anything.

I'm not even trying to get at you here, but I hope you weren't under that impression because you were mistaken if so.
>>
you 2 stop having a conversation
>>
What happened to /gg/. I mean it's always been shit but why does it even exist anymore?
>>
>>74219910
I don't mind someone trying to share an opinion when its solicited, but I wasn't doing that.

If I gave a shit what you thought about something I'd ask. I didn't ask though so you don't have any right to get upset when I tell you I don't give a shit about what you think. It's not complicated unless you're borderline retarded.
>>
is it possible to extend the vocal range to the highs with exercises like its possible to get a deeper voice?
>>
>>74219200
>>74219466
if you want to go aluminum better go Veleno not kramer or tb
>>
>>74220572
Eh, there's a probably a good reason AF never used it much live. Never laid my hands on a Veleno though.

Sounds good to me senpai, nice progression. Just keep playing, don't fall into the mindset that jazz has to sound a certain way. We're living in 2017 shape jazz around the way you want it to sound.

play it as slow as possible such that you can play it while singing

/gg/ do you think I should get a Hagstrom II or a Univox Hi-Flier? I know I'd like both of these guitars, they're thin, light weight, and I've heard good things about their necks. The only down side about the Hagstrom, however, is it doesn't have humbuckers.
