I practiced and played guitar every day since 2007, enjoyed it a lot. However, I got into a depressed mood and didn't play guitar for about twelve months. Well, I began regularly playing again about a month ago. I was surprised that I still remembered chord shapes, progressions, scales, exercises. It just felt sore until the calluses came back.

I mention this because I know guitar players feel like their skills was degenerate if they skip a practice or don't play guitar for that day. Unless you're a pro it's not a big deal. Your previous knowhow will be in your brain when you feel like coming back. Only the fingers need strengthening again.

I've been getting into pentatonic soloing and I'm decent but I wanna learn how to use the blues scale but I'm kinda confused on how you actually incorporate the blues notes into solos. Like are there specific recommendations cuz it sounds out of place when I use them.

Say you're playing a triad. Play the same triad with the root note exactly one octave above, that's the first inversion of that chord. I just listened to the solo A LOT in Amazing Slow Downer and watched and compared a lot of Youtube performances and lessons on it.

Also I practiced bending and vibrato a lot relatively early on in learning to play. If you want a bluesy dorian kind of sound take your pentatonic box and add the major 6th to it and fuck around with milking that note and squeezing it up a bit in pitch.

So look at pic related, do your regular pentatonic licks but also use the red notes I added. Makes it Dorian sounding. Sounds good on an Am7 or Am6 chord.
