I play suhrs at my guitar store every time i go. they are all good. i like PRS too but I hate the finish they use. i hate nitro finishes. the custom shop fenders I've played all feel good, but they use nitro and suhr doesn't.

gibson feels like fucking trash. they're such a joke now. only a couple of their high end les pauls felt okay to me, everything else, they have no idea anymore.

I have a Tubemeister 5 watt tube head and a focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface connected by an XLR cable and plugged via USB into a laptop to use instead of a cab (I live in an apartment but still need to crank volume and gain for doom/stoner). Basically I'm looking for very beginner friendly software that I can use with the tube head. Don't need so much amp simulation as much as FX/cab simulation. Any budget suggestions? Very new to this.

I have one problem: I can easily strum 6-string chords both up and down, but if the chord is 4-string (for example D or Dm), if I strum up after strumming down, I will hit A sting and likely low-E. First one is centered around D, then C, then B and then I think it's another variation on B or something. Baseline just goes D,E,F,G because that's my friend and it's his first band.

I've posted there like a week ago asking advice on acoustic guitars. I'm (relatively) a beginner, my friend gave me an ibanez gio and I've been playing it since, but acoustic guitars are much more appealing to me: much more fun to play and learn how to play. Guys, how do even basslines work?

I recently bought an Epiphone bass off of a guy for a hundred bucks because it was too cheap to pass up, and I tried selling it for profit, turns out nobody fucking wants it.
So I've picked up the habit of recording a bass track and practicing guitar to it, because it sounds nicer, but I literally know jackshit about bass other than picking the root note of the same chord I'm playing on guitar. Is there any simple formula to make it less of a waste of a guitar?
I'm a bit behind on my music theory.

I bought my first acoustic guitar this January, with my own money.

I still can't play for shit. I mean, I can do chords, and I can finger notes just fine, I just can't get the movement and the fluidity.

Should I rent a storage room, buy as much bottled water, canned food, and guitar books as I can and just lock myself away for a year until I get good?

Is this a viable way of learning guitar? I feel so distracted by technology and things. I just want to get away and be with my guitar.

i used to keep pressing my fingertips with the other hand's nails every time that i remembered it.
but what really works is to play the guitar. you know its like muscles, maybe you cant even do a single push up, you just stand still so you build a bit of resistance then one day you can do one pushup then you can do multiple pushups. its the same thing maybe you do one bend and you cant play anymore

Could be anything. The way you hold the pick or where you're picking from. Maybe at the beginning of the session, you start with wrist and slowly morph to elbow when fatigue sets in. Either can work for you but you want to stick with one to master it. Same applies to speed... Some players pick differently at slower speeds, then wonder why they fuck up at tempo. Hope there's something here for you.

Yeah, I started on uke, so I built up calluses in a couple of weeks, and by the time I switched to guitar I was already good.

Just don't stop playing for more than a month. At least every few days touch those strings man, because you'll be kicking yourself if you lose yoir calluses. I don't think my fingers ever went back to the way they were before pre-instruments, but it did hurt again after I started again.

strats my first guitar. really cheap model, its a beginner guitar, but a decent one at it, its well built decent fretjob etc. body is basswood 7 pieces. tuners are surprisingly decent. i was looking for a good strat after i bought the LP so i decided to upgrade it because muh my first guitar. turns out it sounded cheap even with new bridge, block and pups. so i replaced the pickups for some heavy ones, like overwound texas specials, now it sounds ok. i swapped the neck with the tele when i upgraded it.

les paul's all nato wood. the body is 3 pieces i think. decent grover tuners. refreted it with big Dunlop 6000s. pickups are super distortion and 59. wired 50s wiring and with split pushpull. waiting for a new nut to use her again because the a string is really low.

tele is the last one i bought. previous owner had it relic the neck, gfs pickups, and this repaint. i dont really like these overwound pickups. its waiting for new saddles to get back to use because these really cut the strings no matter how much or how ell i sand them, and theyre zinc anyway.
