I spent $1700 on a guitar and it won't stay in tune to save its life
Any music for this feel, /mu/?

Stop buying 12 strings then.
The sound of you trying and failing to play a good song on your shitty guitar
Here's the guitar. I took it into to get looked at and the guy just told me that gretsches are infamous for not staying in tune at all, and there isn't much he can do to fix it
>>73950169
What the fuck guitar did you buy for $1700, a Les Paul?
What's the best sort of affordable guitar for staying in tune, anons?
jimi hendrix

You have a surprisingly nice-looking house for a /mu/ poster. Shame about the guitar.
>>73950169
sonic youth
>>73950186
wow that looks like complete garbage, what would compel you to spend almost 2 grand on that
>>73950186
>Gretsch
>>73950238
This.
>>73950186
What a shit head
Could be the nut
Could be the strings
Could be the neck
Could be the storage
Could be the tremolo
Could be the turning pegs
Could be you
Newyork dolls? T rex? Boom town rats?
>>73950186
>doesn't stay in tune
>sparkley
>$1,700
>>73950186
Bigsby's don't stay in tune well so I guess don't use the trem???
>>73950239
I like the look of it. Very few guitars have a silver sparkle finish. Plenty of people find it cool, but I can't play it at gigs since it won't fucking stay in tune
>>73950186
Are you serious
>>73950169
atonal music
>>73950288
I mean if you like it that's all that matters
Go to a different shop and ask, that guy was a retard. Anything is fixable.
>>73950288
i'm not going to insult you, but why would you buy an instrument because it looks cool as opposed to working well? please help me to understand this anon
>>73950352
Bought it online. Didn't know it wouldn't stay in tune. I think I might ask for a refund and send it back to the original seller. It was from imperial vintage in LA
>>73950270
>Gretsch
I can 100% guarantee it's the floating bridge.
>>73950213
floyd rose
>>73950408
the bridge isn't floating you dolt
>>73950235
It's obviously his parent's house, dimwit
>>73950489

>>73950182
spbp
>>73950381
>bought it online
just don't ever do this again, i've done it too and well it's not great.
only buy instruments you're able to try out first
>>73950169
:(
looks nice, but if it doesn't stay in tune at least 3 hours I would return it
maybe resell it if you can't return it
>>73950186
>the guy just told me that gretsches are infamous for not staying in tune at all, and there isn't much he can do to fix it
Ask another guy because this guy is a dumbass
>>73950169
simple fix op, just replace the pegs
>>73950169
Quit smoking, OP, you save money that way.
>>73950464
it's still the bridge tho
and you know it
>>73950590
yeah probably
who the fuck spends 2k on a fucking Gretsch jesus christ
>>73950169
I have a 200$ dean vendetta and it stays in tune perfectly, I only tune it every few days. Gotta do your homework son.
There's a pretty easy process for taking care of most issues like this.
Fill your bathtub up to about three inches with 90% isopropyl rubbing alcohol. Then just let it sit in there for about five minutes. It's kind of an expensive fix, but it will most likely to it for you. Do not use water in the tub, though. The alocohol won't hurt it, but water will.

That happens when you get a new guitar, for like the first month you'll have to tune it very often but after a few months it will soften up and give in to the tuning.
Chin up little frog boy, we're all gonna make it
This is why we hate phone posters
>spends $1700 on a guitar
>doesn't properly stretch strings
>thinks guitar is wonky
>>73950213
Buy a guitar with a fixed bridge, don't buy a guitar with a whammy bar.
I recommend you buy a Yamaha:
http://www.samash.com/brands/yamaha/electric-guitars/
Just tune it before each performance.
>>73951088
OP said "it won't stay in tune"
You are an idiot.
