Hopefully you have a few friends, you can ask them if they know anyone who plays guitar you could jam with. Friends of friends have been the best route for me

Otherwise force yourself to do social things and talk to people a lot and bring up music and instruments. So many people play guitar anyway, it shouldn't be that hard to find one after a bit of effort.

Go to some cafe that let people perform. Open mic nights are really good for this, it's how a lot of the singer-songwriter people around here find people for studio sessions or to collaborate with

Squeaky strings aren't mandatory right? I mean it is possible to pick up your fucking fingers right?

Is running two fuzzes at once workable, or is it just going to lead to a mess. Have a verb and a fuzz rn
>>
>>73508070
Alternatively, you can use fretboard lube.
>>
>>73508070
Use stainless steel strings if it's an annoyance
>>
>>73508210
>>73508250
Well I mean mainly in recordings that I hear of others particularly acoustic. Sometimes the string squeaking is incessant. This is just because they are undisciplined players who aren't fully lifting their fingers when moving up the fretboard right? Or more specifically they are slow to fully lift their fingers completely before they move their hand.
>>
>>73507674
Looks like an Ibanez
>>
>>73508630
I had a string squeak problem a long while back. I kept posting about it but to a lack of responses. I finally figured out that my pickups were way too close to the strings. (I bought it that way and it was my first electric after a long stint of just nylon.) My first clue should have been always having to dial back my volume knob for a decent tone. As a bonus to dropping my pickup height, my "sloppy playing" suddenly cleaned up enough that I decided not to quit guitar altogether.

So maybe they're just too closely mic'ed?

To be honest, string squeak on acoustic is such a common thing I don't even hear it any more. I imagine most people are similarly desensitized.

Get an AXL USA Torino AL-1080. Its better made and you can find one for $300-350
>>
>>73509681
Anon, this is going to be a stupid question, but, are the number of pickups and knobs/switches indicative of quality? I always figured the more the better.
>>
>>73509730
>the more the better
More gives you more options but it is also more failure points and more distraction from the task at hand: playing.
>>
>>73508070
It seems to be stylistic choice.
>>
>>73503601
>>73504134
i find it easier to do pulloffs and bends, plus it allows me to strum harder when i want to and it leaves more space for the string to ring out, i want maximum toan and resonance
>>
>>73509276
You'd be better off with a Mexistrat or a Yamaha Pacifica. if your just starting. The build quality/value is just better, AXL's are assembled in the US, parts made elsewhere and their quality is spotty.
>>
>>73509730
You'll get more tones out of a 2 pick up setup, warm round neck pickup tones and hot bitting bridge pickup tones and the middle position of a 3 way switch is sort of an imbetween tone.

The Axl will give you a humbucker tone for rock but it also has a coil tap option for single coil sounds. You can also turn down the tone knob to roll off some of the highs and warm the tone up. Over all its a nice playing guitar with great quality components and hardware
>>
>>73509899
I honestly didn't understand most of that (I'll probably google all the technical stuff) but thanks a lot anon I'll look into Axl.

will a bridge upgrade on cheap lp special affect its tone significantly? it still buzzes a bit at the saddles even after i sanded them, only goes away with the tailpiece screwed all the way down so the pressure makes up for the poor saddles. also it feels a bit loose around the 2 big studs. a proper aftermarket bridge will fix these issues? is wilkinson a good brand or is it just decent? to upgrade or not to upgrade such cheap instrument is not on question here

Is the tone knob on a guitar important? I am eyeing up this guitar :

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/RGAIX6FMTGF

However, I am not sure if I should get a guitar without a tone knob. Also, is this Ibanez better than this guitar?

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SEMHHB2

Which of these two is better? I play everything from rock/jazz,, to metal.
>>
Changing to 12s, so I probably need to adjust my truss rod. I've heard some use allen wrenches, some use a specific tool. I don't own any tools or nuthing, so does this look like something I need the allen wrench for or tool. (inb4 it's dirty, it's a 50 buck strat clone that's pure shit I haven't touched in a while
>>
>>73516253
Well it only depends if you enjoy having additional control of the sound your instrument can emit or not. Tone knobs can be used to find some sweet spot on the fly without having to meddle with your amp
>>
>>73516253
You'll be fine, most fuckers don't even know what their tone knobs do.
>>
>>73516253
For me, a tone knob is very important. i use the tone knob of my guitar all the time

you can get a "tone knob" with any low pass filter if you really really want a guitar without a tone knob but still have this functionality.

About RG guitars, if you want versatility i recommend you trying to go for RG prestige, Iron Label from my understanding is tuned mostly for metal while the normal RG is a versatile guitar like a stratocaster (different from a strat though)

Cobain didn't like him, and he was in the band for fucks sake.

The only people who listen to him and Foo Fighters are people who smell like cheese, overweight, or unironically "nu-male".
Just a disgusting smarmy worthless talentless cunt surviving on his dead friends legacy and pretending he had anything to do with it at all. Mega rich but pretends like he isn't an all out businessman with no soul.

The best drum bits on Nirvana records weren't even Grohl anyway. Tracks like In Bloom weren't even him, he's a fucking hack talentless cunt

I feel sorry for Krist for having to pretend to like the guy all these years later
>>
>>73520555
did the media also tell the youth in US and UK that it's cool to be a nigger playing guitar in a cotton field 100 years ago?
>>
>>73520621
Yes. All fads and music scenes such as punk, etc, were entirely manufactured and pushed by record execs with huge influence.

It's not a conspiracy. They literally let it happen, or took part in making it happen.

Same is happening with hip-hop now. They fan the flames of a new tiny movement (could be anything) until it becomes a wild blaze.

At the end of the day, they still decide what gets big, what gets pushed, what gets support, and what doesn't.

>inb4 you say it's the demand
No no no!
The people will listen to anything if it's put into their ears! They don't care! They will listen to anything providing it meets a certain criteria and is easily accessible, and it has to be EVERYWHERE.

That's just how it is. You could literally put a lump of shit in a shop window and someone would come in and ask how much it is
>>
ace frehley is everything thats right about guitar
>>
>>73520500
the guitar is probably more popular than ever given rising guitar prices, places like guitar center exploding and buying out regional chains, the endless supply of dumb guitar meme videos on yt, etc etc

the issue is that hip hop music is the easiest shit to market to the percentage of the population that still buys music, and this is what 'young people' are portrayed as making these days.
