What's the best MultiFX pedal to use at home and record stuff via USB? I don't want an interface because I like playing though my amp. The newest zoom G3n doesn't work as an USB interface, but has the best stuff, including drum rhythms. The Boss G-001 seems like a good desktop option.

Apparently there's some kind of gel inside of it that some people have had weird problems with, but I shouldn't really have to worry about this. D'darrio even covered repair costs for some of the people leaving the reviews.

>>
>>73482391
I don't have a pedalboard, only a drive pedal. The MultiFX would be more than just an interface.
>>
>>73482433
ok let's do this
what's your budget and what fx do you like?
>>
>>73481704
Just use a good delay pedal and palm mute really that's about it
>>
>>73482473
I'm not on the US but let's say around 250 dollars(the zoom G3Xn is around $200 and the G-001 is $300 as far as I've seen)

I want a bit if everything. I'm really not into funky sounds. I like to have many choices of ODs and distortions. Reverb, delay, chorus, flanger and phaser are cool, but I've never messed with them. I'd like to have a rhythm machine to play along, and a looper is also very cool.

Buying all of this separately would be way off my budget, so the MultiFX seems like a fun choice.
>>
>>73482731
you're better off with analog pedals, even cheap pedals for distortions imo, but that's your call
is it a big deal to be able to use many fx at once?

Any classical (or flamenco) fags here? Looking into some guitar supports on stringbymail.com, and I'm trying to decide between the Gitano and the EFEL basic support. Anyone have any experience with these? Are other supports even worth the money when I already have a footstool?

Also, any string suggestions? I mostly use D'adarrio pro arte hard or extra hard tension. I have also used Savarez extra high tension, and a high tension set that had wound second and third strings, which I hated.

>insists on playing with fingers even though he sounds 3x cleaner with a pick and the attack of a pick suits our music at least equally if not better

All in all he's not that bad though, just a bit difficult to work with sometimes. We tried looking for replacements at one point and somehow everyone who auditioned was much worse. We had one guy bring in a fretless who couldn't play in tune to save his life

>>
>>73493014
Fuck that. There is no rational reason to put the two thickest strings in the middle and have the treble strings at opposite ends of the fretboard. How the hell am I supposed to play bass lines like that when I play finger style?
>>
>>73492953
that is so fucking stupid

also no you can't do that
>>
>>73493132
yeah the ukulele is a pretty fucking retarded instrument, so why do you even want one?

Damn guys, still gotta wait like a month to buy my Ibanez RG Prestige RG652AHMFX, or a Kiesel Aries, so many different things I could get, though the body on an aries seems kind of larger than an rg

Have you guys ever had any luck with local guitar shops?

I'm traveling to another city a few hours from me today and I figured while I was there I might as well try and pick up some gear but Craigslist is pretty empty
>>
>>73493160
I have lately had a massive boner for upbeat folk music like Ukulele Clan Band. I love the sound of the instrument, but I hate the layout of the fretboard and the tuning.
>>
>>73492953
The shapes are already the same as on the top 4 strings of a guitar, you'll just have a shittier version of a guitar if you take out the only interesting/specific feature of the uke (the lowest string being an octave higher).
>>
>>73485509
>>73485101
>>73482926
lol
>>
>>73493262
Oh shit, I didn't notice that the tuning already is the same as on the guitar, except moved up five frets.
All right, then. I still hate the string order.
>>
>>73493256
By nature they're hit or miss. You might find some local gem that has good gear and helpful staff, or you might end up in my trash town where the only music shop has shit selection and delusional owners. Only way to know is to go in and browse.

One good thing I can say about Guitar Center stores is that at least they're consistent and have a good selection, because trying to browse the local scene can be a clusterfuck of limited selection and owners who think they can get away with overcharging on low-mid range gear

Yes, I also didn't notice at first, it can be helpful to know that. But I still don't get what's bothering you about the string order. In my opinion ukulele isn't a functional "lead" instrument, are you planning to use it as one? The difference in order isn't really noticeable when strumming.
>>
>>73493461
your third world tile floor makes me sad
>>
>>73493567
Well, I play mostly fingerstyle on the guitar, so I'm used to having my thumb play the thickest strings while using the rest of my fingers on the thinner ones.
It's really hard to play fingerstyle on the ukulele like that, so I'd love to switch the strings to accommodate my usual playing style.
>>

your average D chord shape is now a G chord. your A chord shape now becomes a D. the E shape now becomes an A. it's just how the instrument works.
Grab your guitar and capo your fretboard so all your open strings are a perfect 4th higher than the open string, ingore your two bass strings, and there you go; you now know how to play a ukulele.

I find it really uncomfortable after a while, especially during long practice sessions. Either my back starts to hurt, or my leg falls asleep for some reason. Pic related is how I usually sit to avoid these problems, but it's not as stable and I can't see the fretboard as well.
Some of the students here use ergoplays a bit more, sometimes a pillow or a pillow and footstool. One guy has a murata, but that's over $60 and he sometimes uses a low foot stool with it.

So i learned my scales and worked on technique and spider exercises.
Now i can noodle the minor scale around at decent speed.
But still have a poor ear for soloing when its more than 2 chords, i just go playing the scale randomly and hoping that some interval will sound good. The only sound i know how its going to sound is that of the standard pentatonic box plus adding intervals that i like, and even that i cant make it fit all the times.
Also im still bad at writing riffs and parts for songs, probably also because of the vague ear for intervals.
What do? Should i just keep learning more old songs?
