theyre good but theyre no skullcandies
>>
>>72800236
Are they actually that bad? I want them for just a pair to wear when I'm out and about. Don't need anything too neutral.

Nigga what
>>
>>72800354
>but not as good as Skullcandies
Notoriously bass heavy shitty headphones
>>
>>72800364
So neither are good
>>
They're great headphones. My buddy used to rock em in high school and the sound was always good to my memory
>>
>>72800354
skullcandies are shit headphones, it was a joke

>>72800272
OP I actually have no idea about those headphones
>>
>>72800390
Was the bass overpowering? I hear people refer to them as basshead quality but I listen to a lot of orchestral based stuff as well as rock
>>
>>72800182
I fell for the meme like five years ago. They're decent, v-shaped sound, average soundstage, too bassy to be neutral but not bassy enough to be a basshead set. Isolation isn't great and the on-ear cups are awkward.

However, they still work perfectly fine after five years of use, so they have that going for them. I'd advise you to keep looking, though.
>>
>>72800430
from what I remember they're bassy headphones for sure. Not overpowering but emphasized. I would get a pair of open Senns for orchestral stuff and rock. If sound leaking is a problem then the sony MDRs or a good pair of Audio Technica's will be more balanced and do the trick
>>
>>72800443
Any recommendations for closed back sub $300 headphones? These came up as a fun pair since I don't need neutrality when I'm walking around but want something to compliment my Shure SE-215 IEMs
>>
from a pleb's point of view, they last long(only problem I've ever had is recently the ear pad ripped, getting xl ones) and they do a good job muffling outside noise
>>
>>72800477
Not really looking for neutrality since I currently have a pair of M50Xs. Might get a pair of HD tops when I get a good DAC for home use.
>>
>>72800482
Audiotechnica A700X or the A900X, my friend has a set of the A700X's and they're pretty good, I have the AD900X's but they're open back
>>
>>72800482
dt 770
>>
>>72800956
Can you recommend a decent budget desktop DAC/amp to use with them?
>>
>>72801358
I'm using the 80 ohm version without dac/amp on my desktop pc and it works fine.
Try >>>/g/hpg if you really want to buy one though. They'll probably recommend you fulla2.
>>
>>72800182
Been using V-Modas for a couple of years now.

LP2s are very bassy. I remember when I first got LP2s I had to use an EQ because of how much the bass drowned out the trebles. After a while I got used to it though. And I couldn't tell at all after a few weeks of use.

Recently made the switch from LP2s to the M-80s and the opposite happened. When I first listened to music through my M-80s I thought they were defective because of how 'tinny' I thought they sounded, in reality it was just me being too used to the LP2s bass.

However the overall sound quality of the M-80s is better, plus the fold-away mechanism is dead useful.
>>
>>72801436
>M-80
shit, I meant M-100
>>
>>72801436
>>72801483
I heard the difference between the LP2 and the M-100 was like night and day. Improved clarity with more controlled and tighter bass response without it spilling into the mids.
>>72801410
Will do. Thanks
>>
>>72800236
Nice
>>
>>72800182
Super bassy, though not necessarily at the expense of mids/highs, and you're mostly paying for style. Like beats but not shit and not as overpriced. I would avoid them for something more balanced. If you want dark sound signature, save up for refurbed b&w p7's.
>>
akg k240 is the best low cost headphone IMO bar none. These are industry cornerstones even for infinibudget studios

I'm actually pretty big advocate of them. They don't sound amazingly great, but they do the job well. I've had the same pair for probably 6 years of incredibly heavy abuse crashing bikes and skateboards, the fact that they are still intact is incredible. I'll be buying another pair right when they do break
>>
>>72802511
The M100 seem to have a better frequency range and I should be able to lower the bass if it is overpowering through an EQ. The P7 look really tempting but I need something that I can bring outside and wear around my neck for portability. From what I'm seeing, the P7s don't sound incredibly better. But I guess if the M100s arent my taste, I'll go P7
>>
>>72802821
my sennheiser just fell from a very small distance and started to glitch sound every now and then

You can get Sennheiser HD-25 1-II. Better than ath m50 if you or okay with the simple design. I run with these regularly and if you use the velour cups your ears don't get sweaty or cold. Impossible to make m50 sit on your head, and the cups will flake.
>>
>>72800482
M50x. A great headphone amp makes these cans sound unreal for the money.
>>
>>72803644
Have them. My Shures have a better sound to them surprisingly. Better low end and can handle the details pretty well
>>
>>72801436
Durability is an underrated quality in headphones imo.

My M80s have been my main headphones since I got em 2 years ago.
>>
>>72803690
Been using sens HD 25 i II's for 4 years. Had to glue the padding back on this year but they still bang

You browse the music board yet you know jack shit about fucking anything, how is this even possible?

Those are sexy. What's the sound like?
>>
>>72806220
Mostly neutral with some slightly recessed highs. Very good headphones but they cost $400
>>
>>72806260
At the price range I feel like the money would be better spent on HD 600's, no?

owned V-MODA crossfade LPs for three years. they worked for electronic and some hiphop, but anything with guitar sounded kinda shitty. not terrible headphones, but definitely not versatile.

currently rocking these babies and im in love with them. have had them for almost a year now and they are perfect
>>
>>72806310
I bought it because I wanted a good closed set of headphones. These are planar and sexy af. I also have AKG k7XX for open headphone listening.
>>
>>72806339
I heard the LP2 sound like absolute carp compared to the M100
>>72806346
I'll definitely look into the OPPO these are all so enticing but so need to get a DAC/Amp for my PC to use them (but luckily my phone has a quad DAC and amp built in)
>>
>>72806117
Close back a shit, I can't imagine using anything other than my AKG K712's. Superior comfort, superior sound.
>>
>>72806451
Try walking around a college campus with a pair of open back headphones
>>
>>72806541
I'm not autistic so I don't wear headphones in public
>>
they're fantastic op
for the price they have an incredible sound and a good fucking bass. If you don't like bassy music then they aren't for you tho
genres they are good at:
>Brostep (made for these)
>Jungle
>Drone
>Sludge
>Hip Hop
>Garage
>Drum n Bass
>Slowcore
>punk
genres they are bad with:
>jazz of all kinds, except maybe new releases
>Classical
>Prog
>ambient
>Baroque pop
>Musique Concrete
>Krautrock
>Post Punk
>>
>>72806666
My library is super diverse. My tastes vary from death metal to prog/alternative to acoustic and orchestral focused pieces. Its hard to find one pair of headphones to cover the spectrum of genres I listen to but I figure if the M100 are detailed enough, I can dial back the bass in the EQ
>>
>>72800182
I've owned a pair of Crossfade LPs since 2011. They've been good to me. They left the house with me daily, for years. They've seen better days, but they still work. I currently use them as my gym headphones. The "leather" on the headband is falling apart. One of the ear pads finally ripped, but it's still useable. I'd say I certainly got my money's worth.

I also currently also own:
Master and Dynamic MH40
Beyerdynamic DT770
Grado SR 80e

You all are plebs
>>
>>72800182
I have them. Really good, get the XL pads.
>>
>>72800182
They're good but man something about Beats just can't be topped, ya know?
>>
very good warm/bassy option for under $250 USD to become your post-m50x cans. try to find a deal for around 200-210. go for the XL pads. build quality feels excellent for the price and they're comfy af.
cons: don't feel good around neck, still gets warm around the ears, i imagine there are better options if you shell out some more cash, these models are old (2011-ish?)

but that niggbass.... HNNGGG
>>
>>72807352
That's why I was looking at this model since it doesn't have the leather headband
