You don't "outgrow" entertainment, you simply get tired of it. You've heard what you feel is the maximum potential of the music style, or you can simply predict every possible future nuance of innovation and don't enjoy following the steps through.

The real point here is, when people say "I grew out of it", the implication is that it was a positive change that indicates maturity.
All it really means, is your taste has changed. Horizontal, not vertical. No indication of "better" or "worse".

There is media that is produced to appeal to a demographic who's basically a walking bag of hormones that will eventually go away, and with them, the ability to enjoy said media.

You literally outgrow it.
>>
>>72690396
Some of you neanderthals require mental imagery to understand slightly difficult concepts, especially when confronted with someone challenging a wildly common, dare I say "household" tier phrase/saying - "I outgrew it". As if you became a better person, more advanced somehow, by dropping a genre of music, or a TV show, or style of writing, etc.
It is a joke, in the pitiable way.

Correct.

>who's basically a walking bag of hormones
Maybe, maybe not. I understand you are referencing teenagers from the very outset of these statements, but these statements are applicable to adults.

Yes, some things are made for a certain demographic. That does not necessarily mean children or teens, it just means "people to whom this type of thing attracts". That is the demographic. It happens that teenagers and children occupy a large slice of that demographic, and thus retailers and outlets will simply generalize.

You think you outgrow it, but it's a mental trap you have been tricked into believing is reality. You do not grow out of something, you change into something else, with absolutely ZERO qualitative progression.

>>
>>72690580
>these statements are applicable to adults.
There are at least two more moments in a person's life when their hormones and who they are basically change. Hell, the frontal lobe kind of calls it quits after midlife and you notably change of opinions and tendencies.

Again, you grow out of it.

>it's a mental trap
Yes, it happens in your brain
>you have been tricked into believing is reality.
My brain is real
>you change into something else, with absolutely ZERO qualitative progression.
That's a damn pretty way to say nothing. Are you trying to turn this into a Nietzschean "there is no good or bad" pseudointellectual argument? Because quality was never even hinted at as part of the original argument.

Outgrowing something has nothing to do with realising something is "bad". Get a grip, liberalarts-tard.
>>
>>72690481
It's contrived and nonsensical. If you think understanding that progression isn't by default a path towards maturity is in any way a difficult concept, you are a real neanderthal.

I shouldn't have to explain each dot to the minute detail, and give you a 50 page dissertation on how they are all related. You're supposed to know these things already, and see the connection. Yes, this is correct. You are not wrong, and I never said this part is wrong.
You are wrong to say that's how everyone sees it. As I stated earlier, in my 19 years on the internet, and 31 years of living and being actively social in both real life AND the internet, the most common thought process regarding change in music taste, is that the reason their taste changed, is because they grew. Listening to it on YouTube is inconvenient. The quality is often not great and it's harder to listen to music on the go. Also many bands put up official streams nowadays. There's one for the new NM album too.

Downloading the album is not what the band intended, so it's unethical and the conveniece of it will tempt you to keep "trying" the album indefinitely. You'll come up with some excuse for it too. Maybe the album is good but not good enough, maybe you like other albums more and tell yourself that you'll buy this one later or maybe you have more important things to buy, like a Pet Rock.

Maybe I'm an exception and not a rule, but I have over 700 CDs and 100 vinyl records, and I never would have gotten that many without torrenting first, buying later.

because the posters in these threads are too stupid to be self-sustaining.

for a while they tried to make up for their lack of original thoughts through the use of cuck/nu-male/fedora memes, but you can only sling meaningless insults at one another in lieu of actual conversation for so long
