Here's BJM.
I have fairly extensive collections of Mercury Rev, Spiritualized, and Spacemen 3 too but don't feel like pulling them off the shelves.
>>72036935
are all of those original pressings?
4/6
>>72036993
Most of them yeah, I try not to buy reissues & get all of them through thrifting and used record stores.

I also have a shitload of 90's punk 7" but they are more of a hassle to take pics of.
Sup? (1/2)

Good god that's a shitty pic lemme do that again.
Actually since I have more than my vinyls I'll post other collections.
Half of the sides aren't readable on my records so I didn't take closeup picks.

what kind of thrift stores are you going to?
all mine have are educational classical records and old gospel records
I'm literally jealous man. what kind of thrift store has mingus records
>>72034874
Most of Autechre's Warp catalog, about two dozen CDs.
A representative selection of RDJ. Also about two dozen CDs and like four vinyl records.
I kept every single TMBG album in this cd case since middle school along with their album art.

>>72037269
Most thrift stores will have educational classical and Christian albums. Nobody really ever picks them up. If you're going for sampling though, it could be pretty good for you.
Just keep visiting thrift stores. Sometimes you find nothing but those gospel albums nobody wants, sometimes you find a cool album stuck among that mess. You just gotta keep looking is all
>>72037321
Also I have about a dozen Nurse With Wound releases now.

Most of my best thrift hauls are from 2-5 years ago, seems every time I go now there's 2-3 people picking through them so you have to be literally the first person when they bring them out. Small towns are the best for thrifting because less volume of people. CD's are much more fruitful these days imo, but the key is to go frequently. You have to be digging to strike gold.
These days I buy most of my stuff from my local record store, but he's super old fashioned and doesn't use the internet to price so you can pick up some rare as hell stuff for $10.
>>72037357
I'm more curious at where you're at regionally and how often you go. I'm in the country of Tennessee but I don't go shopping too often
>>72037563
I live about 20 minutes outside of Los Angeles. Stuff in thrift stores here usually goes quickly. I actually remember one time at a goodwill, an employee walked out with a cart full of new items for the store. The entire cart was packed full of Dragonball Z figurines. Some dude ran up to it before I did and scooped up a bunch of them right away. I snagged a Picollo before he did. :)
That's not even with CDs and stuff. Those go quickly too
>>72037618
>>72037509
very insightful. I'm usually working during the week so I go on the weekends sometimes and can't find shit. We do have a cool store in Tennessee that has a shit ton of excellent used records of all kinds. the store is called Mckays
>>72035552
Naked city, a ghost is born, have one on me, and zombie are all from that store
>>72034874
My rosenstock/btmi stuff, and signed stuff
>>72037743
>I'm usually working during the week so I go on the weekends
The best time to thrift is like a tuesday at 2:00pm for that exact reason. Also drag yourself out of bed early on saturdays and hit up garage sales, half the shit I own comes from there, and not just music.
>>72037860
My shelf
>>72037743
Look to see if you have any Goodwills near you, too. I used to live in the south, they usually sell CDs for a dollar out there (unless company policy changed while I've been gone or something).
Flea markets are a nice option, too. I'm sure you should have a few nearby, which is even better if you're off on the weekends since that's when they're held. There's an open air one pretty close by that I frequent on a regular basis. Ended up finding all of this there for almost nothing.
it's a teensy collection but I love em to bits
>>72037081
sunbathing animal, noice
>>72037875
i've found some good stuff at estate sales before. I'm leaving my job pretty soon so I may do that
meh
>>72037910
>sunbathing animal, noice
I get all of my new records (Swans, Iceage, Viet Cong, Parquet Courts etc) when I see bands live; I saw the Sunbathing Animal tour in Toronto and smoked joints with the band back stage after the show ;) Much better than a signature imo.
Just took a pic of the shelf
>>72036849
you are the guy that bought it for $49.50 huh? I know because I bought it on discogs for $35 and there are only two transaction in the history of its listing.
>tfw too poor to have a massive cd/vinyl collection
>>72039161
you can always buy used. a lot of used cds on discogs are like 5-10$ not including shipping
>>72039161
just buy the ones worth owning desu
>>72039161
They can be cheap af if you buy them used.
>>72039185
>a lot of used cds on discogs are like 5-10$
Why the shit is Discogs your go-to idea for cheap CD's? I picked these >>72034608 >>71864812 for $0.50 - $2.00 each at second hand stores just in the last 10 days. Discogs shopping is so sad.
>>72039161
Assuming you're in America, buy used at flea markets and thrift stores. Shouldn't cost more than a dollar or two per CD. You'll build up a sizable collection of cool stuff in no time if you do that. It's what I do
>>72039529
Your copy of Scary Monsters looks a lot different from mine. Is that a Japanese pressing?
