>>outdated sounding
Outdated musicians who don't want to step outside of their comfort zone you mean.
>>all genres creatively exhausted
There are genres not yet discovered due to the aforementioned problem.
>>limited musical range
Yeah, every musical instrument is limited in some way, that's why we have so many.
>>takes years to master
As does anything worth doing. What else are you doing with your life?
>>and even when you do there's always an 8yo Asian that's better and more accomplished than you'll ever be
There will always be someone better and always someone worse. Just gotta see how far you can climb.
>>if you're technical the audience will say you're just showing off
That's fine because music is subjective.
>>if you're restrained the audience will say you can't play
That's fine because music is subjective.
>>an electric guitar isn't a complete instrument until you pair it with an amplifier
Of course, but a computer isn't a computer without a monitor. I mean there are lots of things that need to be paired with something else to work as intended.
>>so it's expensive
Not really. You can get a decent beginner setup for under $500. The price of what people spend on a decent graphics card or a console and a couple games these days. You can't use the old space or noise constraints argument either anymore because there are amp pedals now and there are these neat things called headphones that have been around for years.
>>playing can give rise to health problems like arthritis and carpel tunnel
True, but if you already have arthritis, I've heard that it can actually help those with it somewhat, by exercising and stretching their hands. I'm not talking shredding, just laid back playing. Don't know how true that is though.
>>all the good pussy goes to rap niggers
Who plays guitar to get women? I'd rather have another guitar or a pedal or something than a woman. They're a pain in the arse nowadays.

Rich dudes who overpay custom shop-type guitars to hang on their walls and occasionally play on the weekends. They're a large part of why the vintage guitar market is so insanely inflated. Hence the dentist meme/"blues lawyers".

they're guitars for people with loads of money and no taste in guitars who never go out and play a gig, in fact they never even play the guitar, it just hangs on their fucking wall because if they took it out of the house and it got scratched then that's $5000 off the value

Frederick Noad's books are pretty good as an introduction. Otherwise a typical classical student will learn from a combination of performance pieces, etudes and scale studies (usually Segovia for guitar). It's the type of study that is pretty difficult without an instructor, unfortunately.

guitar newfag question:
can i use this little dot mkii amp with a guitar (currently using it as part of my turntable setup)
>>
>>70865142
At least drums have merit. Drums have had more of an influence on music. Drums also sound good with jazz, unlike guitar. If you wanted to play in an orchestra youre not going to be able to do it with a dean and a tiny terror. Youll meed an actual classical guitar that most players wouldnt be equipped to play. You cant just jump to cello cause you play guitar, where as with drums a lot of the technique transfers between instruments
>>

You dont need a million amp sounds

Playing comes from inside you

I do agree with those points, and I do have a Vox AC30. But I mean, it's a good alternative to buying multiple tube amps and having to deal with the upkeep of tube amps. Sometimes I want a Marshall sound, sometimes a Fender.
>>
>>70865557
Man I don't think there are. I know, having a real amp feels much better (not talking about the feel while playing, I'm talking about touching the knobs, etc.) I know you can get tube amps for 350$ or 500$ like >>70865596
said but the thing is, for eg. if you want a Friedman, Bogner, or any other "boutique" amp, unless you're rich Kemper will be the closest you'll get to them (both feel and sound). I think if you have the financial power, do it.

Can a blues jr play ska like reel big fish?
>>
My Afterneath stopped working recently and I'm not sure why.

I don't remember doing anything to cause it. It was fine and now whether I turn it on or off it doesn't make any sound at all. It does make noise when I turn up the parameters and get it to feedback, but that's it. The guitar sounds totally clean and normal when it's on otherwise.

Anyone know what to do about this? The screws are pretty big and obvious so I'm considering just opening it myself but I wouldn't really know where to start unless it was something super obvious
>>

A lot of guitarists on mylespaul.coml are making fun of me saying I look like an Epiphone (I'm a Gison Custom Chop!). My friends say it's because of my broken headstock but I like my tonewood splintered. What should I do? All the teasing is getting to me.

Yeah, my friend who plays banjo has some. I just see them in pretty much every fingerpicked blues video on youtube, so I figured they'd be a huge deal or something.
