the ceo is garbage and the only good gibson is one on cleareance so i don't feel bad when I drill holes in it and change the pickups

Ibanez is best value for the money by a mile.
>>
>>70853238
There's no volute where the neck joins the headstock, making it prone to breakage.
>>
>>70853240
My first guitar was a crappy used acoustic of some no name brand. My second and first electric was another no name knock off brand.
>>
>>70853269
But why though?
Gibson knows it has an issue with headstocks breaking, why don't they fix it? Why keep making a flawed product and why do people keep buying them regardless?
>>
>>70853238
so when you go past the nut on a guitar, you want a little bit of back angle on the string when it goes to the tuning peg to keep it from slipping around out of tune, most guitars go about 10-15 degrees, gibson went full retard 60 years ago and went like 30 degrees without a neck volute

when you drop it, it's the first thing to hit and it's weak so it goes to SNAP CITY

they actually put a volute in years ago, but gibson purists(fags) requested it be removed

Fender is just cheap. They're cheap to make, cheap materials, cheap build quality, but you're paying for the name.
There is absolutely no reason a Strat or Tele should cost any more than a few hundred

I dont think ive ever owned a truly shitty guitar. I mean i had cheap guitars that didnt feel or sound good, some that setups couldnt save, but they were always able to do what i needed. Im also not trying to say that my $80 ebay super strat was on the same level as my american tele or sg standard, but it was playable. The most unpleasant guitar i ever had was probaly an ltd kh 203. Ugly, cheesy inlays, shitty floyd rose that was hardly usable, passive emgs, neck was pretty narrow and the shaoe was uncomfortable. But even then all that was just minor annoyances, i gigged with it as my main for 4 years.

Subjective.

Nice thick straight up all Mahogany NTBs with a maple fretboard and titanium floyd rose original with 42mm Tungsten sustain block.

Pretty much any ESP in my opinion. Great value guitars there. You can play metal on anything with the right setup, so whatever it most comfortable or easiest to play for you I'd say.

Pic related. Go to 0:18 and watch this tech lie about why there aren't any guitar cables going into the amp.

You're a chump if you believe a guitarist endorses a product and has to use it too. It's advertisement, sorry.

>>

He has a Peavey endorsement so he uses Fender amps hidden in a Peavey cab.

>>70857628
Yep.

They don't call it "show business" for nothin'. Pic related.
>>
>>70857649
Really, there's no longer any need for huge 100 Watt backline amps any more. Those were designed in the 1960s when you had to hear the backline above the drummer. Now everything goes through a huge PA, you could play through a 5 Watt amp and still be heard. As long as the monitors are good there's no need for 100 Watt backline.

Pretty interesting stuff desu. Are there any other practices like thise used by bands?

Saw these guys live (I know, I'm a faggot) and the bassist dodged a bottle of piss without missing a beat. 10/10

my friend went to see Dio one time, he said there was a fiberglass volcano on the stage and a huge mechanical bat flew out of it

not sure if that's relevant though
>>
>>70857765
That's pretty cool but I was thinking more along the lines of sneaky, deceptive stuff. Apart from the obvious pitch correction and backing tracks.

Just don't believe it when an guitarist endorses a product and you'll be fine. A general rule: it's fake, they're not telling you all their rock star secrets.
>>
>>70857817
also, 90% of the time they're not playing the same guitar you're playing, even if it's expensive

ghostbuilding is a very real thing. there's some exceptions though, Opeth is one of the first that comes to mine. they legitimately used PRS SE guitars for a while, still do maybe
>>
>>70857841
>they legitimately used PRS SE guitars for a while, still do maybe
How do you know they weren't the custom PRS made to look like an SE with "SE" written on the headstock?
>>
>>70857841
I've read the they usually use a heavily (but not visibly) upgraded version of their signature model with better materials, hardware, fretwork and electronics.

I think it was in regard to Scandal's signature Fender (they might have even been Squier) guitars.

>>70857873
We don't. So a good rule is don't go out and buy an Opeth SE thinking it's the exact same guitar the guys in Opeth are playing because it's most certainly not.
>>
>>70857873
i played one
>>70857951
they used them for sure, they're not even for sale anymore though

they were probably upgraded electronics wise, but otherwise they were SEs

no reason to be butthurt you bedroom player :)

evh was such a corksniffing faggot that there was a story about him "being able to pick out the solid birch cabs in a lineup" and other complete bullshit

You played an Opeth model in a store? Oh wow, that changes everything!

There's no telling what your faggot heroes in Opeth actually played on stage. Only them, PRS, and their techs know what those guitars actually were.
>>
>>70857917
Are they saying "Boo" or "Boo-urns"?
>>
>>70858126
no

i played their guitars, as in they came to a venue I worked at when they had them and I played them

you're impressively retarded, you can't shitpost worth a damn, and like your parents, Opeth haven't made anything worthwhile in over a decade

neck yourself

Sometimes that kind of shit from artists ascends to unbearable levels. In the mid 2000s when KISS decided to keep going after the "farewell" tour, Paul was using a fucking Silvertone. I half considered one but when I held it I knew there was no way in fucking hell these can make it through a gig, let alone at a professional level. For all their jew instincts it was depressing him stooping as low as "endorsing" Silvertones. Even the tail end of his Washburns with the knockoff Firebirds were decent, but the mid to high tier Icemans he has now with Ibanez are at least tolerable

Yeah I'm sure Opeth are in the habit of letting any old random retard dumping the trash at a venue handle the instruments they'd need to play a gig with later that night.

Like I said: whatever you say, squirt.
