I don't like anime but yeah it's really good. Exodus from the Underground Fortress is a highlight.

I bought the cd for this at a store and i just realized last week it was a taiwanese bootleg

OP here. I'm not sure but I think the Akira OST is expensive now. The bootleg was cheap?
>>70622164
This happened to me all throughout my childhood and adolescence, buying OSTs at $20 or $25 a piece, only to be informed later that they were chinese bootlegs.
Some of them are pretty well done though, the SonMay CDs from the mid-90s are very well done bootlegs, later on I found some lesser quality ones, like "EverAnime", those editions sucked from what I remember.
I still keep mine for nostalgic reasons and also because, all in all, they're still CDs, the sound quality is still the same as the original.
And since we're posting 10/10 soundtracks, I'll leave the Super Butoden 2 soundtrack, amazing stuff.

The arranged OST CD is amazing, IMO it's on par with the symphonic versions of the Dragon Quest soundtracks.

Listening to this now. Just wow, incredible. As expected from Gabriel.
Is the movie also good?

Akira soundtrack is cool, but GitS is just superior
Making of Cyborg is an incredible track

/Mutants/ can take some credit - the female choir has an eastern feel,
apparently composer Kenji Kawai was inspired by Trio Bulgarka on Kate's

the original soundtrack of Akira by GeinÅ Yamashirogumi is incredible - surely one of the greatest fusions of traditional music with contemporary culture
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Af5r8ONtacw
but the original Ghost In The Shell -soundtrack by Kenji Kawai is never far behind:
the Making of Cyborg song is a true classic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0z08OpmEPc

I highly recommend listening to the rest of Geinoh Yamaishirogumi's catalog. Ecophoney Rinne and Ecophony Gaia are just every bit of masterpieces as the Akira OST. Osorezan's pretty good, but it's a little more out there.
