What killed Trance is that basically big room house (Trouse) stole all it's thunder. It didn't help that probably around the mid 00s Hard Trance/Tech Trance died in the ass, leaving only the real cheesy Dutch Uplifting stuff like Armin, Above and Beyond etc and then even the big Trance artists started playing "Trouse", what you call EDM in the US. Cheesy, 128, big riff stuff designed for American festivals. I remember going to a Tiesto gig in 2009 around and just being "The fuck am I listening too?" because not a single trance track was played, only Electro and Trouse, yet in 2006, saw him and it was just full on banging hard and tech trance.

Trance though survived in the underground. Honestly, I think the Trance being produced in the past few years is the best stuff the genre has ever seen, you just won't hear good Trance on ASOT or anything like that though.

Nobody produces Big Beat anymore, nobody, not a soul. Even fucking Hybrid. Hybrid released Disappear Here in 2010 and that was the last big bang for the genre, completely and totally dead since. No producers, no websites, even no active dedicated Reddit board or anything.

Breaks went on to survive more by merging with Triphop and Psybreaks is as big as ever. But the big room, hybrid stuff and Big Beat are flat lining these days, more than any genre I've seen before.

That being said, Psybreaks is fucking great so at least we got something good still

why do you think all these shit trance dj's and prod house dj's are playing edm now, cause its literally proto edm but then mixed with some brostep elements and maybe some french house shit.

even the way how the shows/concerts looked with the over the top light show feels like edm to me, just a big huge commercial cheesy as fuck thing. + most good trance tunes back then feels mislabeled and sounds more then techno than shitty tiesto trance.

Planning on getting the LP120 in a few weeks time. They're good all-round hi-fi turntables and you can mix with them.

Played with a few in a shop last month, build quality is great for a plastic turntable (not technics quality) but for home use they're ideal.

The LP60 is what I steer people towards as an alternative to a crosley.

how do you rename those millions of files you download in a quick way that actually sticks with the media file, as well with track number, album number, catalogue name etc?

i've been editing them mostly in Foobar untill now, but the names won't carry over to e.g. traktor or other programs, nor rename properly outside of foobar.
