Contrary to popular belief, women don't make $.74 for every dollar a man makes, that statistic is made using the most absolutely broad categories. Women are going to make less per capita than men if you add both genders up because women tend to work part-time more and hold jobs that pay less. If the solution is to get more women into fields that are traditionally male-dominated, forcing companies to hire x many women isn't going to fix the problem. Changing the way female artists are treated by the media isn't truly a political issue, it's a societal issue. Trump is shit, but Clinton is deliberately evil. She shouldn't have gotten behind Clinton, especially since she's not even an American citizen yet, nor would she have been a resident of the US long enough to vote.

Fwiw Grimes' music is actually MUCH less politically motivated than the music press - or even many of her biggest fans - would have you believe. It's actually one of the main reasons why I like her stuff so much. She pointedly goes out of her way to keep the ultimate meanings of her art vague so that the viewers/listeners are given room to arrive at their own conclusions. In an era where ham-handed politicking is so often embarrassingly interjected into whatever the latest art craze may be, imo her music is a very refreshing alternative to have access to - regardless of whatever the true intents of her artistic muse might be.
