Post that one, you know that one I'm talking about.
Any house music that isn't boring musically and not overly repetitive with interesting ideas or sounds or even just soulful?
A lot of this bleep stuff is so boring when you can be so creative with a computer and make anything if you have talent, just don't see it in house much or much dance music at all.
Also techno is probably the worst genre of all time
I kind of like Caribou, Four Tet, Jamie XX and Ejeca
Other dance music I like: Benga, James Holden, Hucci and Burial if you can count that
>>61497809

>>61498553
At least Hucci can try different grooves and isn't stupidly repetitive due to lack of ideas (that they get away with because techno fans are either into it for the image, drugs or stupidity). Granted Hucci isn't fantastic but his music sounds fantastic in a club setting

Coming from a techno fan. All the techno fans I know just circle jerk over obscure bullshit with a cool name/label or being from the 90's. All the music is derivative garbage that hasn't had any progression in over 20 years, it's ridiculous people still want to listen to that boring shit

It's quite exhilarating really: what can you do to sound unique while still including staple "techno" elements?

I don't know why, but I'll tell you this.
This site has nothing to offer anybody. There is no quality content here you cannot get more quickly and efficiently elsewhere. This is an addiction which reduces your productivity, attention span, and free time. You are becoming more bitter, narrow minded, haughty, and old. Leave now and block this site. There is nothing here but slow, lonely suicide.
People do not have arguments here. Posters do not engage one another on key points, they nitpick with greentext and mock each other. Nobody is interested in the truth; people are battling for fleeting moments of superiority. Active commenters are loud jackasses who tumble into one internet fight after another, anxiously keeping ten tabs open to ensure they keep the last word in all of them. An insightful post is one in ten thousand, and no matter how hard you filter this place you are still searching for diamonds in a garbage dump.
This place is not making you happy. You are not having fun. You are not gathering stories to tell, learning, or growing as a person. Instead you chuckle every thirty minutes and are occasionally spurred to masturbation by libidinal posts or pictures. You are addicted to readily available information and pressure free social interaction. This place is slowly poisoning you with misogyny, narcissism, a false dichotomy surrounding normalfags, and insecurity.
I'm not telling you to b urself. I'm not telling you to go outside. I'm not even telling you to make friends. Just leave /bleep/. Do anything else.

Jamie xx practises safe raving with his debut solo album proper, following a 2011 collaboration with Gil Scott-Heron and production as part of The xx. 'In Colour' posits Jamie as the pre-eminent posh soul boy, lifting and massaging inspiration from the rich heritage of late '80s + early '90s London dance culture and channelling it into a pop-ready format palatable to Radio 1 daytime tastes and festival soundtracks. The putative "soul" of rare groove, boogie, hardcore and early jungle is sucked out and spliced with vocals in feathered arrangements ripened up for students and yummy mummys alike - all under one roof. From the deflated hardcore of 'Gosh' to the trudging 'Girl', it's as seductive as a Waitrose fridge on a warm day, infused with exotic tropical reference points in the steel drums of 'Obvs', mixing the suburban Breaks of latter-day Chicane and Marine Parade with woolly chords right out of a Lamb classic in 'Hold Tight', or nodding to seminal Joss Stone in 'Loud Places'. Oh, it's going to be a great summer, we can just feel it.
any Amsterdam people went to De School?
the club it's architecture and idea look fantastic, but when I look at the fb events I already see the swarms of Amsterdam pseudo hipsters flocking. all the tickets sold out in the first three minutes, hype hype hype, and who cares who's playing.
and their line-ups are boring so far, although I like the five hour set mentality. Wish I just didn't had the Trouw name associated with it so it could develop on it's own, instead of having everything I hated about Trouw.
>>61508391

m8 it's just a abandoned school, if im correct the locker area in the basement.

>>61508391
From The Hague myself, haven't been there yet but I plan on going in February somewhere, after exams. Never been to Trouw actually, which I really regret but maybe De School will fill that void.
I've heard good things about it though, quality soundsystem, proper door policy etc. I just feel some new talent has to emerge, they need to invite some new guys and stop sticking solely to the Makam and Job Jobse circlejerk thing. (No offence to those guys, they're the best)

I think women in general are better at letting go of inhibitions and starting the dance (as in many guys don't want to dance if there isn't a certain amount of girls on the dancefloor)
but with regards to endurance and flow, a lot of men are wayyy better at dancing than girls.
The only exception to that rule is the girls who wear the black high-waisted hot pants and the tight black sports tops with their hair in a pony tail.
They are fucking beasts and will outdance even the most flamboyant voguer.

men for bleep raves
like at a normal club dancing to rnb and pop girls are better because it's all about trying to look "sexy" and attract the opposite sex and actually do "dance moves" and trying to dance and interact with people
but at most bleep things it's generally just like getting some general movement through the body, loosening the shoulders, head nodding, and doing a little something with your arms. that's what most people, myself included do. you're just dancing for your self really of course
desu it's actually quite fucking annoying if you're at a small bleep venue or something and most people are dancing "correctly" and then like a gang of drunk girls accidentally wander in and dance in a big circle bumping into people
>>61509070
>I think women in general are better at letting go of inhibitions and starting the dance (as in many guys don't want to dance if there isn't a certain amount of girls on the dancefloor)

>>61509070
Intersting you bring up the flow part
Idk I feel like I'm a pretty bad or mediocre dancer but it seems most times I dance with a girl (not nesecarily at a bleep cub) I find that a lot of times women are never on the beat. Like they're usually a sixteenth or eighth note off the rhythm and throws me off
Maybe I'm just really bad at dancing and it's just me but idk I feel like I can count to four and hit my steps on the down beat correctly
>>61496905

Talking about dancing, I only just found out that it's so much easier to go through a crowd while dancing instead of just trying to slip through or something, I started paying attention to it last Friday when I was at Awakenings (don't hate) and it works like a charm man.
For some reason when you try to slip through casually people block you or something but when you're dancing it's like they gain sympathy or something and they're all like yeah man go on ahead. Funny stuff, but maybe I'm kinda late on finding this out hehe.

>>61509413
I know in the better clubs (or gay clubs for that matter) that sort of thing thing doesn't really matter, but I feel like you can't rule it out.
It's a horrible notion, but for some reason dancing is still very ingrained in a lot of guys minds as an effeminate thing to do, and only acceptable if it's done in the interests of pursuing the other sex.
Personally I couldn't care less how many girls are on a dancefloor, and I pity the people who are afraid of letting go and having a good time.
#forthemusic
>>61510663
This is why its a general DJ rule(seems to be an old school rule now) that you're supposed to always play to the girls especially when opening a night. Play to the girls and everything else turns out just fine.
>>61510038
You haven't noticed that before now?
It's so fucking funny. Just do a smal sidestep while walking and smile at the people you pass and you will get through the floor in no time.

>>61510777
No m8 obviously as I described it doesn't apply as much at big nights where people come for the music, but it is basic dancefloor psychology that you sort of can't deny unless the club/party is specifically gay. If the dj chooses to observe and adhere to this is ofc their choice.

Techno-esque nights at Electric Pickle here in Miami, they generally don't give a flying fuck about that type of shit but this is Miami where most people don't really dance. It's more of a social thing even tho the techno-esque nights have their own crowd PLUS the general nightlife crowd. The thing is, not following that general rule with playing to girls will just typically backfire on you in an environment like Miami.
In Europe, like places like Berlin, people generally have a more open mind and you can freely play how you want.
It's very different here in the US tho especially a party city like Miami. People here have serious ADD when it comes to clubs and their music.
One time Jovonn was here in Miami at a club with 2 rooms. He was in the main room and the club had a "hip hop room" as well. He was playing great but every time a track he played had a break in it even a small one, people would fluctuate in and out of the main room to the hip hop room between breaks in tracks. He actually asked me how he played because he didn't know how he did because the crowd was so finicky. This is how it is in Miami.
Don't know how it is in other cities in the US but yeah that's as objective as I can be when it comes to the city and scene I'm in.

ah i see. fair enough then. i'm from london so the divide between normie clubs (which are kinda like what you've described i suppose) and proper "bleep" clubs is pretty strong. i've never really had to encounter anything like what it sounds like in miami lol
>>61511147
The divide here in Miami with proper "bleep" clubs and "normie" clubs is insanely unbalanced and left to a very few. The "underground" scene here in Miami is so small. I wish there was more unity though between all the cliques within the "underground" scene in Miami. I actually have a small chunk of the scene here with my monthly and DJ residency. It feels very odd knowing this. It has come to a point where I have people here begging me for gigs now since they know I'm in with so many major people here in this scene. I think it's like this in every major US city though.
At least in Europe there is generally a more balanced divide between the two from what I hear from friends and people online.
>>61511138
