Probably just get more into French Jazz, maybe pick some of those artists off of the wikipedia article on it and go with them to start off.
French jazz is more focused on piano work than most other instruments, it sounds like what you're looking for.

I enjoy a lot of shit that disses religion. No idea why, my "I wanna be an atheist" phase lasted like a month tops and that shit was at least 10 years ago. Plus I respect/don't care about most religions nowadays, so it's probably just my inner edge creeping back up.

Also I like Linkin Park and Pierce the Veil. Can't really defend myself on that last one, but I'd argue the first two Linkin Park albums are legitimately good.

That's the problem with rock, it's always been edgy and cutting edge. While this has led to great shit the problem is when they try to commercialise it and for some reason it worked really really fucking well in the late 90s mid 2000s.
