These guys can't play their instruments for shit and the singing is awful, can someone explain to me what's the appeal of this album?
sha la la la la la la laaaaaa laaaaaaa
I don't know. It's really just lifestyle music for gangling white teenage boys. There's not any more to it than that.
I hate ppl who praise Malkmus as a guitarist when his guitar playing is the most "just kinda there" sounding thing in history. nothing he does stands out as good, or bad, or particularly catchy, or interesting, etc.
meandering garbage

Wrong.
My mixtape.
that explains why Starboy was god-awful
actually it was awful because it was a The Weeknd album, just like all of his albums
Not really, the guy's entire career has always been based on taking drugs and having sex with (occasionally borderline raping) women.
It's a given that he was taking drugs while recording the album. He's always taking drugs.

starboy was a alright for a cokehead
How do I become the next mac demarco?
>>69498476
Stick a flathead between your front teeth.

you, homeshake, alex calder, and a bandcamp teen are all stranded on an island off the coast of british columbia with nothing but a lot of cigarettes and chorus pedals. you will have to fish for survival, and make driftwood effigies of kiki to sing to and snuggle at night. the last man still alive will be adorned with the prized trucker's cap and declared New DeMarco
get pitchfork to document your silly antics
what are your favourite albums from this year
Still no Miranda? Did you see Pitchfork reviewed it last night?
>>69498547
I listened to it two days ago, yeah it's very good
I didn't update the chart yet but it definitely deserves a spot on there
I don't read pitchfork though so idk about their review, what did they say about it
>>69498572
They were just really complimentary which I appreciated. They described Learn Her as the most experimental which I don't remember so I'll have to listen to it again with an ear for that.
God tier albums...
...and albums that could have been god tier if they were edited differently/done with a different approach (I'll post below what I mean).
Too long.
Amazing beginning, ok enough middle and no ending. Could have been perfect.
I know a lot of you hate pop...
It should have been fleshed out more. It was rushed imo. Some of the songs are perfect tbf.
Hit me with some fresh music reccs I'm kinda bored with my music and would like something new and different open to everything.
I'll give you something in return

also this is the only finnish album ive rated that isn't metal. I remember it being pretty good but I cannot remember exactly what it sounds like
Can /mu/ give me some heavier female artists? I'm tired of looking up metal bands fronted by women and seeing fucking Nightwish.
The Runaways, P.J. Harvey, Janis Joplin, and Hole are definitely on the right track, but I need something a little harsher. Hell, fuck being harsh, I'd love to hear some real progressive or psychedelic music with female leads (ex. Grace Slick).
Pic related is amazing.

Wolf Alice is decent. Not god-tier, but not Nickelback-tier either.

Genres that kinda all sound the same and aren't really that important in the end
I like Bob Marley because he had a nice touch but that's about it
>new groove
nu-hula
>What is future funk?
>traumatic folk
>tfw you just realised No Quarter is proto-prog
I'd say Zeppelin did quite a lot for prog.
Moby Dick, Achilles Last Stand, Ten Years Gone, Song Remains the Same, and Since I've Been Loving You all have proggy elements.
porcupine tree - my ashes
hmmmmm
Zep is pretty proge in general
No Quarter is proto alternative rock though
