Does anyone here think this is really dull?
Almost every high praise I see for it says "But its so influential!"
While that is important, there must seriously be something I'm missing because the whole thing just seems completely submerged in ignorance.
>>70524946
Like "Gary Johnson" dull
>>70524946
Yeah, it's something a lot of this album's fans seem to forget.
Yes, this album was influential, but it's gotten to the point where everything in it that was grondbreaking has been done and redone hundreds of times over.
You're not alone, OP. I feel it too.
I thought the same at first but I think it's an album that really grows on you.
White Light/White Heat is a lot more instant though. Much more "holy shit woah" value there.
looking to get fucked up & die. photo is relevant

Aside from the usual Merzbow and Whitehouse. I got this Ween/Boredoms collaboration album. P good stuff.
"I keep having this dream where Kanye puts out a new albums called "The Death of Pablo" It's just 4 songs, Ultralight Wall, Washed Up, Father Stretch My Hands pt. 3 and Fade pt. 2
They are all around 20 minutes. It sounds like the originals but just 20 times darker in both lyrics and production also, Fade pt. 2 has 10 minutes of Kanye talking about his innermost fears and what happens when you die after a few minutes of silence"
This was my dream, and this thread is for pursuing that dream. This thread is just for rough drafts of the songs and constructive criticism to make The Death of Pablo possible.
This is the only thing we can confirm for the final cut. https://clyp.it/xq3tohh0
Your picture has one flaw, familia.
The grain is over the hearse photo but not kanye and his mom.

No, they're just less shit than before.
>>70524678
>>70524678
Weezer gave me hope with this album. Saw them live, fucking incredible.
I hope they figured themselves out and can make another good album again since this was pretty out of left field with how good it was.
be good

itt: describe how you discovered and developed your taste in music
Pic is just some generic bs I found on google images
>listened to nothing but classical music and video soundtracks in high school
>discover dark ambient senior year of high school
>start getting into metal in college
>get mega into black metal sophmore year
>now a senior I listen to mostly metal but a ton of other shit, biggest genres are black metal, ambient, and a various rotation of other shit (mostly dungeon synth)
>>70523998
Dark ambient, drone, noise are so good. It's funny of me to think that if I showed an album like that to me like even 3 years ago I would absolutely hate it and not even think it's music.
>listened to pretty much nothing but classical until sophomore year of college, except
>junior year of high school, randomly decide to throw on Kid A
>think "wow this is pretty good" and branched out to basic indie rock + Beach House by senior year
>sophomore year of college: discovered shoegaze
>now: mostly shoegaze and krautrock with some classical sprinkled in
>will get around to jazz eventually
THE DEAK

>>70523807

'boring' isn't an argument btw
>>70523846
it's still boring
Is this the most under appreciated classic?
under appreciated by who?
its just okay
its not shit like some of the contrarian memers would leave you to believe but its really not all that great
>>70523652
well i meant that it is recognized as a classic, but nobody really brings it up. i rarely see /mu/ talk about it outside of discussing how strong 1997 was for a year.

Brad Mehldau is doing an album with bluegrass mandolinist Chris Thile, comes out this month. Could be interesting, like Chick Corea/Bela Fleck, and Mehldau's last album was a great duet with Joshua Redman.
