Does /mu/ like post-modern music?
>>71435369
Hey look it's Iron & Wine.
You're not implying that Father John Misty is "postmodern," are you?
>>71435369
>post-modern
No. For fuck's sake, no!
Take your pomosexuality out of here.
This is a really good album
yep
yeah
This is better
This album is a stealth 10. Forget everything you know about Coldplay, holy shit.
they stopped being good after parachutes
>>71434912
yeah parachutes is their magnum opus, the rest is pretty shitty
Its pretty fucking good, I was obsessed when it first came out. Coldplay got kinda boring after this though.
*adds Rain*
What a twist
Here,There, and Everywhere is still the best song on the album.
>>71434990
have you heard the version on the real love maxi single from the 90s? amazing
>most people think Creed is worse than Green Day, U2, Blink 182 and early Fall Out Boy
>some even think they're worse than Nickelback
Why? What happened that caused a decent band to be treated like the cancer of music?
>>71434135
People are dumb lemmings who base what's good and what's not on the media, critics, image, etc
>>71434135
cause theyre a christian band. that's literally why.
>a decent band
not true by the way
WITH ERRRRRMMSSS WIIIDD OPPPPAAAANNNNN
/tv/ here, what's this board's consensus on alt-J?
Just found their new song on Youtube's trending page and thought it was absolute trash but all of the comments are praising it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDUUOt30TGA
Lead singer sounds like an actual 5 year old trying to sing. 0/10
>>71433862
Check out An Awesome Wave, it's generally considered their best and also a pretty damn good indie album. You'll know if you love it or hate it.
I don't know how to feel about this. I don't enjoy it but I don't hate it.
Milo- So the Flies Don't Come
Anything similar to this album?
try other stuff by milo
>>71433297
pic related is kind of similar. also I haven't listened to him but Busdriver is often said in the same breath as Milo
>>71434058
Yeah, they're sounds nearly same. Maybe check Noname and Bobby Raps, OP.
Sonemic will launch but not in our lifetimes.
How do you decide what you rate?
>>71431480
I'm very willy-nilly in the way I rate. If it looks even remotely interesting I'll give it a listen.

DANG IT
bampus ;_;
After the success of our 50-song Beatles cover album, we're continuing our David Bowie project!
Beatles album:

After the clusterfuck that was the Beatles album, we are going to be using a different claiming method this time. Pick a song that you want to cover from the list below, and email me at [email protected] with a rough timescale for when you will be able to finish it. If you simply claim a song in the thread but don't email, it will be ignored. This is because dozens of people drifted into the Beatles claiming thread, claimed a song, and then vanished forever. When songs are finished, they should be sent via email, not posted in the thread. This keeps an element of mystery about the final product.
Submission rules can be found in the first reply

when are you expecting songs to get submitted? I am working on mine right now, as in learning to play the song well on the piano, and trying to pick an arrangement I like, but I wouldn't be able to give you any "update" apart from the programmed drum loop on Five Years
Rules for submissions:
>IF YOU CAN'T SING, ASK SOMEONE ELSE IN THE THREAD TO! Really want to push for strong vocals throughout on this project, so don't feel like you have to sing on your track if you don't feel comfortable doing so. There are plenty of good singers on this board who can help you out.
>This is a fairly serious project, and there will be quality control. Harsh noise won't be accepted, because fuck that shit. Please don't make your covers memey, I know there were a few on the Beatles one like that but I want this one to be a bit more serious.
>Poor audio quality will be rejected. By that I mean something like heavy background fuzz, don't worry if your recording equipment is not professional standard. Just listen to the Beatles album for acceptable sound quality.
>Don't send me guerilla mail. I prefer if submissions are wav files but I don't mind converting them myself.
>It has to be an actual cover of the song, not just you saying "We can be heroes" into the mic once and then playing unrelated music you wrote yourself for 5 minutes. Reinterpretations are very welcome though, see Day Tripper or Paperback Writer from the Beatles album as examples.
>Collabs are also welcome, if you need someone to play bass or drums or whatever for you, just ask in the thread. People collaborated numerous times on the last album to great success.
>>71408429
I'm sure it will take weeks for everything to be sent in, so there's really no rush. Assuming you claimed your song via email just update me every now and then on there

great except for G R I M E S
who is your favorite musician that is also an actor?
Tom Waits and/or David Bowie
Vincent Gallo
Bruce Springsteen had a cameo in High Fidelity (In which Jack Black plays every /mu/tant ever), so him I guess.
If it isn't gay acoustic shit that only teenage girls like then it's gay Indie bands with monosyllabic names who are obsessed with using reverb on everything. And don't even get me started on shitty pop punk with their stupid edgy ironic names.
Only good bands to come out over the past ten years are Foals, The Gaslight Anthem, Royal Blood and Alt-J. Everything else has been awful.
How can we save guitar music, /mu/?
>>71447503
bedding taylor swift
Yeah op neither i've listened to guthrie govan
>>71447557
lol fuck off underage
ITT: Bands that would have been destroyed for their homophobia/misogynistic/racist lyrics had they debuted during the SJW era.
I don't think I've ever been interested in a thread less
Guns & Roses
>>71447456
Every single thread you didn't even open, let alone take the time to respond to would qualify as threads that interested you less, so this is literally not even in your top 1000 least cared about threads
Really makes you think...
How much have you taste in music changed from 2012? Comparing to yourself and comparing to /mu/
My taste is much better
2012 I was just getting out of my "rock is the only good music" phase (kill me)
Now I have a nice variety I enjoy
>>71446993
>muse
I may be a pleb, but at least I am not a pleb that think's he is patrician, like Muse fans
I listened to garbage in 2012 and I listen to garbage now.
