lMAO THIS GUY SACRIFICED HIS WIFE JUST TO GET AN 9.0 FOR SLAM POETRY
I AM DONE WITH PITCHFORK
Fantano is either gonna give it a 6 a 10 or will do some bullshit where he decides to not give it a numerical score.
Pitchfork will give it a 9.1 and will have two paragraphs dedicated to half assed musings on the nature of reviewing art.
>>71752116
yup
fantano will give it a 10
pitchfork will give i a 9.0

Whatever you people think of this publication. They are tastemakers.
Not anymore. Whats a BNM discovery they have made post 2013 that has made a band big? None. They'll give BNM to either already hyped albums or albums that they "discovered" that get absolutely no attention or hype outside of their website.

of course they are. taste makers mostly affect the general populous of any group of listeners which stats show are usually the less intelligent majority. the rest filter out their music preferences with several variables that influence their choices rather than rely on a critic's review.
What went wrong?
Drugs. When your main songwriter decides to retire to bed your music isn't going to be the same.
Also the quality of the music didn't go down until after 1973. No point in listening to much after 1977. After Endless Summer they became an oldies touring band.

"Big Pop is what I mean. You had a vision, boy, a vision. Only damn fools pay no attention to visions. How do you know your father, who was an old horseplayer, just didn't momentarily communicate to you that Big Pop was going to win the race?"

If you can't do it, you're a pleb.
Pleb checking in
wagner. the rest doesn't matter

Renaissance is my favorite Renaissance band.
Does he have any good songs besides 3005, sweatpants, and sober?
>>71751668
worldstar is good, also redbone
>>71751909
Redbone lacks any sort of hook. He got way too experimental with that entire album
>>71751668
>his most commercial songs
he does but I won't tell you which ones because you're a pleb who doesn't dig for himself past the radio singles
>Poor mixing
>Dull bars
>Tries to cover that up with annoying beat switches.
Kendrick, please just stop already... You're embarrassing yourself. Leave this year to Gibbs and Joey.
>>71751598
The mixing is perfect, his voice works on each beat switch
The bars are the pinnacle of exciting, proclaiming his own greatness except his literally the only rapper who can back it
The beat switches work well, they even fit his delivery.
This is literally just a little teaser, not even part of the album like the heart pt 3.
This one song is more inherently interesting and entertaiing then drake, jcoles, big seans, and all those guy's albums.

If you seriously think this, I think you should probably either do one if not all of three things:
1. Go back to r/hiphopheads
2. Listen to more music
3. Understand that everything Kendrick does is so overdone at this point that it's like he's blowing nothing but hot air
I'm feeling extra autistic tonight so let's make a chart for Pitchfork's most overused rating.
Link me to 6.9/10 reviews and I'll add them to the chart.
Weird ass theme for a chart but I'll help a brother out.

I like dumb charts.
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Dissociation
Deerhoof - The Magic
Wilco - The Whole Love
do they need to be well-known artists?
Other people guess the artist or genre
