Anyone else feel like Diamond Dogs could've been really fucking cool if they stuck with the tone that the first two tracks give off? The opening of Diamond Dogs (the song) feels like you're literally being awoken from cyrogenic sleep into this far future world

why so? the other tracks are good. I admit that the first two tracks have a faster tempo than the other songs but for me it's the lyrics which makes the whole album justifiably good.

+ I forgot to add that this album is heavily based on 1984 by George Orwell and it is the 'post-apocalyptic world' theme which makes it special. that's it.

it's been years since i've been here but i figure y'all weirdos would be able to help me out with a simple, reasonable request:
a while back i listened to a lot of weird post-rock, ambient, noisy stuff and there was a song like that that was half-guitar solo half-storytelling time. the story was about a kid being forced to drown a horse with a broken leg or something. the genre feels like it was gy!be but i've no time at the moment to search through their discography and find it and by its nature, it's ungoogleable. it was you all that lead me to listen to shit like this in the first place so you're the only people i can ask about this. please help.
also general post-rock, drone, ambient etc thread if possible

I do sit down with headphones, close my eyes, and listen to albums start-to-finish- but it's not as often as it should be. I got some nice cans but no preamp.
Honestly though most of music listening is in my car or on my speakers at my desk at home while I'm browsing.

Usually headphones while I'm at my computer, playing games, insulting friends on Discord, or all three. If I want to focus more on a listen (like for rating's sake), I stick to browsing or leave my computer all together and walk around the house listening to albums on my phone. I have two stereo systems too that I use from time-to-time, mostly just while cleaning up.
