I feel like the tastes of "internet people" are so much different than everyone I know irl.
I noticed how a lot of genres became popular on the internet (sans normalfag social media), but I know no people who like them irl (except this girl who is a tumblr junkie and counts as a netizen).
>vaporwave
>retrofuturism
>darkwave
>synthwave
>witchhouse
>dark house
>retro electro
>dark minimal techno
>futurefunk
>eurobeat
Etc, and any combination of those.
These are all heavily synthetic genres, that combine in different meassure dark elements, nostalgia and post-ironic corniness. You get the gist.
Of course there is such a thing as non-normalfag music (/mu/ is full of it), but all these share being very fit for the internet. The artists are usually people who publish stuff mainly on electronic format, get known virally by word of mouth, has great appeal to the tech-savy demographic of internet dwellers.
Futuristic (or retro-futuristic) stuff has an appeal for tech-savy people who can't wait for things like VR, AI, transhumanism and genetically engineered catgirls.
Artist like Carpenter brut, Saint Pepsi, Lorn, Perturbator, Aimon, Initial D, they are well known on the internet, they pop up everywhere.
Across all ideological spectrums on chans. I've seen them rise in popularity on /pol/, /co/, /o/, /leftypol/, lainchan, systemspace, etc. Even vaporwave, that used to be a very hated genre became a staple.
Now I see from commies to nazis make remixes, videos, propaganda, etc, using vaporwave, A E S, darkwave and eurobeat.
Pic very related prompt this thread.
Has anyone else noticed this trend?
Dicuss.

Music is a common language, it would make sense that people from all parts of the political spectrum would share musical tastes
>>74683723
That's a given.
What does surprise me is how prevalent those genres have become.
what is this pose supposed to convey?
Come to me my sons
>>74682402

what happened to him? he became complete shit afterwards too
You wouldn't? That's what I've been doing lately lmao
Why wouldn't you spend 5 years getting high and getting laid?
Dude didn't derive any joy from playing anymore plus injuries from other things
Why was this album forgotten so soon after release?
>>74682326
Because it closed the book. It's over.
Hip hop is something else now, and ATCQ knew that.
Because pepe is on the cover, and anything to do with him is now shunned since he is an alt right symbol
Cannot for the life of me see the appeal of ATCQ. They're OK, I guess?
Anyone want to fill me in on why they're so acclaimed?
How is it so perfect?
WON'T YOU LET ME
>reality where September Gurls replaces India Song and I'm in Love with a Girl replaces ST 100/6 and the tracks are sequenced properly

>Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands. Wogs I mean, I'm looking at you. Where are you? I'm sorry but some fucking wog...Arab grabbed my wife's bum, you know? Surely got to be said, yeah this is what all the fucking foreigners and wogs over here are like, just disgusting, that's just the truth, yeah. So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country. You fucking (indecipherable). I don't want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should vote for Enoch Powell. Enoch's our man. I think Enoch's right, I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white. I used to be into dope, now I'm into racism. It's much heavier, man. Fucking wogs, man. Fucking Saudis taking over London. Bastard wogs. Britain is becoming overcrowded and Enoch will stop it and send them all back. The black wogs and coons and Arabs and fucking Jamaicans and fucking (indecipherable) don't belong here, we don't want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don't want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man. We are a white country. I don't want fucking wogs living next to me with their standards. This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for fuck's sake? We need to vote for Enoch Powell, he's a great man, speaking truth. Vote for Enoch, he's our man, he's on our side, he'll look after us. I want all of you here to vote for Enoch, support him, he's on our side. Enoch for Prime Minister! Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!
How the hell did he get away with saying this?
Who is enon powell is he like UK Trump
>>74682317

So can we agree these are the 5 best BONES mixtapes?
maybe instead of banshee id put HermitOfEastGrandRiver but other wise yeah this is correct good job OP
>>74682299
no way, old bones is the only good bones. PAIDPROGRAMMING, Garbage, and Rotten all deserve a spot instead of Useless, UNRENDERED, and Banshee
>>74682299
I don't listen to lil peep ripoffs.
Why do so many good albums fade in the second half?
Pic related, I've probably listened to this thing 20 times and can't remember how a single song goes after Karma Police
>>74682275
>he doesn't like Climbing up the Walls
>he can't remember No Surprises
>he doesn't like Lucky
>he doesn't think The Tourist is the best track on the album
It might be that you're a filthy fucking pleb
>>74682275
Wow. Second half is my favourite half of OKC.
Karma Police is so overrated it makes me sick
you like jazz?
where's my sons
I thought I had type 4chan.org when in fact I typed reddit.com
We was sittin’ there watchin’ the stage. Waitin’ for the man they called Coltrane to come out and do his thing. It was me and my four droogs. Them bein’ Peter, Georgio and Dim; Dim being really Dim.
‘Round an hour’d passed and the place was packed straight through to the back. I’d just dropped some dollars for ‘Trane’s Giant Steps six months back. Now was the time, this was the place. The Village Vanguard. New York City. 1961.
I was only there for the first night, see, but them cats at Impulse! just made my life complete. They put out four CDs of all that sound ‘Trane put out those nights. But you know my type, man. Can’t afford to eat, let alone spend some heavy cash on music. So I only got the essential. Live at the Village Vanguard: The Master Takes is one disc, makin’ it one-fourth the cost of the box set. And you only get the best stuff.
Man, the opening beauty of “Spiritual…” It’s like a dream I had: I floated on the River Nile, smokin’ some fresh weed, relaxin’. But I ain’t ever gonna see the Nile anyhow. This track’s as close as I come, and it’s close enough. Best of the best, though, has gotta be “India.” It’s only when you listen to a perfect old jazz tune like this that you realize how much drum-n-bass is derived from this music. ‘Trane takes it to heaven and back with some style, man. Some richness, daddy. It’s a sad thing his life was cut short by them jaws o’ death.
Shit, cat. It don’t make a difference. The man produced enough good music to last me a lifetime. This Village Vanguard thing’s just another example of the genius of Coltrane.
This was their best album.
also, prog thread
does /mu know good online vocal coaches or literature for learning to sing?
>>74682222
Ill teach you how to sing for a blowie
>>74682229
i'll blow you if you sub my youtube
Honestly the best way to teach yourself would be to buy a second hand keyboard and just try and match your voice to the tones for 20-30 mins a day. Thats how i taught myself.
>his favourite artist was never sampled by Jay-Z
Pleb
Does /mu/ like José Cid?
>>74682500
At least Quarteto 1111
I doubt Jay-Z has sampled anyone
>I wonder who you think you are
>You damn well think you're God or something
>God give life, God taketh it away
>Not you
>I think you are the Devil itself
