When Rainbow Dash's favorite author, A.K. Yearling, announces her retirement, she convinces Pinkie Pie to go on a quest to find out if the Daring Do book series will be closed forever.
So nothing new here, it's almost identical to the synopsis in Zap2it.

It's weird, "she convinces Pinkie Pie." I'd understand it if Pinkie (or any other pony) wanted to help Rainbow Dash and go with her, kinda like what they did in Daring Don't, but why would Dash ask specifically Pinkie for help? I mean, OK, it's true that they went on an adventure together, so they have some experience as a duo, but it still seems arbitrary that Dash had to convince Pinkie to get her help for something related to Daring Do. I wanted another episode with Twi reeeeeee.
I don't know. At least we'll get more fangirl moments, and fangirl Dash is always adorable. I'm looking forward to it.

In case you didn't know this mini series, it's exactly what the title suggests, My Little Pony in the game The Sims. If you ever played The Sims, it's basically a simulated gameplay of a pony version of the game. It's pretty nice and it gets about one episode a year, this is the 5th episode, but it's not really a show so it's unrelated to the previous episodes.

Here's the basics of it Anon. The contract you signed does not hold them to paying you your 'Bonus'. It DOES hold you to serving your time. The 'Bonus' is just a promise, meaning this: If they choose not to pay you, they don't have to pay you. You served your time. They don't need your trust anymore. Honestly, joining the army this day and age is a bad idea. Don't get me wrong though, I love my country and if they desperately needed troops I'd gladly reenlist, but honestly they lie ro their men way to much. I don't know if you can still as I didn't, but if you can, drop out. It's not worth it.

Hey I just got back from Ft Sill like 2 weeks ago. Don't take any advice you've gotten as fact: every platoon is radically different.

Although in general, to get by without much trouble: obviously, keep your power level hidden and don't talk much about other unusual interests you have unless someone else brings it up. You don't want to be like the guy from my battery's 2nd platoon who admitted to 20 people he's watched around 30,000 hours of anime. DO NOT lay low and try to avoid notice like some people say. Even if the drill sergeants don't single you out for it, others will notice and bad things will happen.

There's a lot of regulations now on what the drill sergeants can and cannot do. It's not like Full Metal Jacket. They can't lay a hand on you unless you're doing something that could injure yourself or others. They can't call you names or do overly stupid shit for fear of it being considered hazing. They can't even swear too much. Just do what they say and know that whenever they yell at you, it's nothing personal. That's their JOB.

Make friends. You'll need a clique to enjoy Basic. The best-off people had a group they'd always be with, usually 3-6 people. Then those groups had 1-2 orbiters, and those guys would be alright too, but a little worse off. The worst off were the people who would sit down to eat MREs and have nobody to hang out with. They didn't have fun.

White Phase sucks. It's a lot of sitting around in the heat all day for 10 minutes of shooting, and not even fun shooting. That shit's gonna be a long process, but you have like 2 weeks of training left when you're done.

Oh, and don't be stupid and think you'll get away with contraband. Trust me, you won't.

So it's an underdeveloped sense of empathy that drives these people?

You see the same phenomena within the SJW a lot, trannies and homos DEMANDING trans and gay (and black, and female, and obese...) protagonists in movies, TV-shows and videogames, demand to be "represented", because they are incapable of empathizing, identifying with or even roleplaying as a character who isn't a stand-in for themselves.

Is it something cultural? Something with the upbringing of GenZ (and late GenY, I guess)? This incapability to identify with a character that's different from themselves in some way is something completely new, something we've never encountered before, as a culture. My only hypothesis is that teaching kids the entire world revolves around them means they can't properly attach to a world (real or fictional) unless they literally feature as the center of that world themselves.

The thing is this is true for half of the main six, and is the reason I like Dash, Twilight, and Rarity over the other 3. On top of that you can look at the two main princesses and see Celestia who has shown very little struggle compaired to Luna. Completely unrelated to today's episode, but I've been thinking about this. Some time before Newbie Dash, we talked about the Wonderbolts. Given that the last episode where they got some development was Rainbow Falls, where they were complete jerks, the thread was divided and some of us defended that maybe it'd be for the best if Dash never joined the Wonderbolts. Time has passed, Dash is a Wonderbolt now, and in both Top Bolt and Parental Glideance she seems quite happy about it. I'm really happy to see that she's living her dream, and it's great to see that she's enjoying it. But to this day I still think that she's much better than them.

Does anyone else feel the same? How would you deal with it if you were with her? I feel that it'd be cruel to tell her what I really think of the Wonderbolts, because it could affect her, and it'd be like boycotting her dream. I think that I'd support her at any cost, even if it meant that I'd have to pretend that I'm the Wonderbolts #1 fan. But on the other hand, I think that being insincere to "protect" her is awfully patronizing, and she deserves better. Do any of you think about this kind of stuff?

Her song in the movie is titled "It's Time to be Awesome". They played (part of?) the song at the SDCC panel. Some anon recorded the audio of the panel with a phone and uploaded it. I didn't hear the song, apparently the quality isn't good, so I'd rather wait for the movie, but you can probably find it on YouTube if you can't wait.

The world won't always be perfect and you won't always be loved by everyone. While Dash talks a big game in the second category, I guarantee that she knows and has even been shown both the good and the bad side of the wonderbolts and that not everything works out for people in it. She saw it in Rainbow Falls with Soarin being ditched by the other two of the squad for Dash, we say it in Rarity investigates where a former popular member tried to set Dash up. Just like all other organizations out there, there will always be bad moments or bad people(ponies in this case). To let those ponies or actions (on purpose or accident) ruin the perception of the wonderbolts entirely for you is to be both forsaking Dash and her dream considering she is now truly and fully a part of them.

It takes strong pieces to make a strong organizations and the Wonderbolts are no exception and Dash has come to realize that no one on the team is better than the team. For you to not be willing to understand that means you lack the comprehension of teamwork. While Dash is the center of my life, I still believe she made the right choice and is not worse of for being part of something she's always wanted to be a part of.

I prefer to self inserts myslef with pre wonderbolt dash. Personally I have nothing against them, Sptifire is even my second favorite pony.
But I just think that with them being world famous sport team and somewhat retarded caricature of military unit there wouldn't be place for me in her life. I know that it's really selfish but I like a lot more to see myself with ponyville weather captain Dash, that spends a lot of her time napping and being lazy than world famous sportstar Dash that is touring all around country and have countless fans.
