I sing folk and punk music usually. When I sing by myself I usually default to a country sound since that's the laziest kind of voice for me but it all depends on whether or not I can project (housemates and shit).


Anyways since I couldn't do what I said I'd do I'll share a bit of a wip I've been working on in the interest of having content in the thread.
Please no bully about the flubs and the awkward voice as this was written only moments before I recorded this. But any advice on lyrics or direction would be sweet.

I did the majority of the composition with additions made by Dzahlus and ElectroCelloFag.
Anoridan was slated to do the mixing (has put together the demo/collab so far), added the drums as well as emulated piano and his friend did the bass.
Engie did the violin.
I'm supposed to be bringing the whole thing together.

When I made my "adorable" comment, I'd only paid attention to the words of the first verse.
That's some depressing imagery you go on to sing about: I thought it was all going to be about a cheery yet egotistical pegasus (or whatever the personality's called when they like to pretend to be in charge).
Also, you could change "her wings don't work like they should" to "her wings don't work like they used to": don't know why but, after my initial assumption on the topic of the song, I heard the "I don't look so good" line and immediately assumed it was about growing old.
At least they're two cheerier topics you could sing about.

Thanks, it came out a lot more depressing then I think I intended it to. Not sure I like it now that I've slept on it. It was supposed to be about a war in equestria with an older scotaloo trying to protect some terrified ponies. Like said I'm not to happy with it now that I hear it again but hey, at least it was a content bump, right? ^:)

As for the song it sounds neat. I'll check it out once I wake up.

One of the old, original songs from /mlp/ plays. I really want to see this one get completed, as we ran out of time for the last album. Instrumental is basically complete, but we need a singer and lyrics. Lyrical ideas included walking through Ponyville, a switch between Ponyville and the real world that contrasts the upbeat music with dark lyrics, etc.

I guess on the initial mix, I made it a little quieter. Prob why it sounds the way it does. You could boost it up if you wanted. But the left and right have the harmony guitars, remember that.
