So does this whole alliance in general. Brazil attacked us briefly using the void and the void's admin got very angry at their ally Brazil and considered breaking ties with them. He even threatened to ban anyone for discussing attacking us to the south when we pushed back.

The void is developing organization, and maybe some sense of honour and morals.

On the plus side, I feel like I'm getting better at pattern recognition, especially detecting very slight alterations, and I'm definitely getting a much more intimate knowledge of each portrait's details. Is someone's master plan to sharpen our perception by having us detect minute changes for hours on end every day? I like to believe that this is not merely the work of a very clever and devious bot, and someone is actively putting a lot of time and effort into this right now.

I haven't programmed anything we use for this game, but Pixelcanvas has an API that can be used for automated grabbing of snapshots from specified areas. I haven't seen the API documented anywhere, but it's there. That's how timelapse anon got his source material. My guess is, every time someone loads the app, it downloads the current snapshot of the areas our ponies are on through the Pixelcanvas API (that's probably why it takes so much time each refresh for everything to load), then uses some image processing libraries to turn the snapshot into an array of RGB values. Then it diffs the colour values in areas specified by the programmer against ones expected by our templates. That's just the backend part. How it's all presented so neatly to the user is another thing entirely.

Sorry for sperging about it, I don't even program, it's just fun to think about.

Precisely. I believe that someone is working on a version that instead follows the live updates in the background, which would make response time hugely quicker.
