The dev with captchas and killing bots, as well as his refusal to do anything about artwork being destroyed. Us with breaking/making alliances without consensus and as well with no longer acting like a team. I've tried to get people to move pieces before we place art down and had responses like move it yourself if you care. Or when people reach a consensus about the void everyone else just ignores it because that's not what they feel like doing. Even when we were just building or repairing a lot of people wouldn't help with repairs if they were builders, or they wouldn't help repairing certain pieces (either only cared about banners or only cared about ponies). People stopped working together, and so most people stopped playing.

Use any drawing program you like. Even MS Paint works too but it's really frustrating, something with layers and shortcuts is better.

Aseprite and Photoshop are pretty common choices. Other than that, watch some basic spriting tutorials, use the colors available on the website and a pencil tool. If you're making something based on something else resize it down to the banner/portrait size first and sprite over it. Use the original without resizing as a reference to add the detail back in and fix shapes that were resized poorly.
