I think Sunset is trying to break the connection between Flash and Twilight because Sunset knows that it won't go anywhere. Twilight is way too busy to be in a relationship and Flash can't just abandon his life to move to Equestria and same for Twilight. She can't move from Equestria since she has responsibilities there.
Sunset is just trying to save him from the inevitable heart break and pain that he's been going through ever since he met her which is why she told him it won't happen. Twilight can't move from Equestria and Flash just can't go and live there.
If Sunset let him write to her, it would just end up hurting both parties. She did a good thing trying to put a stop to it now.

The show's still good. It consistently makes me laugh and cry with new episodes. I find that it teaches good christian morals and I can actually find biblical backing for most of them. I've also met up with multiple people from the board and it's a joy to get together with y'all. I get miffed sometimes when it goes too far and you trample over each other, but everyone here has value and the Ponk hugboxing threads are possibly the best things to come from /mlp/. After all, Ponk says you have value and Jesus loves you!

Equestria Girls is much better than the main show. Also, the show died when they gave wings to Rainbow Dash.

I genuinely believe Ponk is a better, more fleshed out character than she was back in S1-S2.

I have no idea why people latch onto Glimmer so much when Sunset, who has her exact same core themes, is handled in a much more effective way.

Celestial Advice is one of the worst episodes I've ever seen because it teases the viewer with a chance of changing the status quo, then denies them of it at the end. Despite my above comment, I think Starlight would perform much better if completely given her own space and friends. As it is right now she's in an awkward limbo which isn't satisfying anyone.

EQG is funner than MLP right now. Whether that means it's better or not is up for debate. But I've noticed that past Rainbow Rocks, none of the characters have been given idiot balls, there's no infighting, or characters acting like fucking assholes/idiots like what sometimes happens in MLP. On the other hand, not much of the Mane 6 have been given focus in EQG either (aside from Dash I guess).

We deserved a better Princesses episode than what we got.

I like Spike a lot. And I enjoy making fun of him more.

Fluttershy is the worst Mane 6 member. Although this wasn't always the case. She was quite nice in the earlier seasons. But if Fluttershy Leans In is anything to go by, she can't hold up an episode completely by herself. Which isn't surprising; her best asset is that she's cute. Apart that she's shy/cowardly, but rarely has the wit or charm to make up for that (and if she does, people just say she's being a bitch). She's just not that interesting a character anymore.

Not every Mane 6 member needs a gradual arc like Rarity and Rainbow have.

The writing for Glimmer episodes is either great or downright bad, I have yet to see a middle ground. No Second Prances, for example, was excellent, but To Where and Back Again was the worst episode FiM has ever produced. This has been my (very unpopular) opinion as well for the past few years (starting with RR and S5 or so). *But* I think Season 7 is bringing them pretty close to the same level again. PG specifically really bumped my opinion of the show back up.

I guess my current unpopular opinion is that for the most part I actually like CMC episodes more than regular episodes now?
