I'd be ok with that but I imagine it more like a cultural thing that stems from their physiology. If pony sex is anything like horse sex it's pretty much impossible for them to have it recreationally. There's lots of ways to show affection other than that, I can imagine lovers focusing more on other forms of physical contact that can last longer, cuddling, petting, kissing, booping and so on.

It's not so much that they're completely asexual, it's more of a lack of reason to be sexually active, it lasts less than a minute and barely does anything for the mare; it's probably reserved for the purpose of procreation anyway. A pony would have a culture shock hearing your stories about just fucking for fun because it's not the kind of activity that's done for the sake of it.
