I have two older siblings. Rarity acted more like a mother seeing her child grow up, because of the huge age gap. As sisters they would mature together and both of their hobbies would change.
I understand how Rarity reacted, but it was overdone. More like if it was "I haven't seen you in 4 years" instead of "yeah we hung out two months ago", so I didn't really buy most of the episode.
The opening before the scheduled activities and the ending were sweet and fun though, so overall I liked and enjoyed this episode.

I have a step sister that I was very close with, but they moved when she was twelve. Next time I met her after four years, but it was clear to me that her interests had changed and she grew up.

I don't have siblings and I'm glad for it. I think Rarity overreacted for the plot too much and they repeated the same thing over and over again. It felt forced, especially with the dog plot to parallel this thing. The episode wasn't bad but it certainly could've been better.

I really liked the moral of the episode, but Rarity's writing seemed a bit off. She wasn't too far out of character - her actions were mostly fitting, but her dialogue was a little out of character, I thought. Not a huge deal, but it wasn't perfect.

This episode gave me lots of feels because it reminded me of my mom.

I love Rarity. I find her to be one of the most realistic characters. She has real flaws, and her conflicts are always believable. Meanwhile, I love her empathy and poise. She can read ponies and situations like no other. That's something I strive for, myself - knowing how to react socially to make others feel as comfortable welcome as possible, and being able to detect when someone is nervous or upset.

Why do you love Rarity?

dog that has Rarity color scheme.

Megan,jaysen and Rebecca made the "Art of the mlp movie book" and on the cover it has Spike looking and crushing on Rarity.

Rarity "Peek behind the Boutique" she put heart in Spike name and has hearts leading down to him.

He impersonated Rarity really well that so how much he knows her and show he hang alot with her.Still gem hunting together and he comfort her when Maud Pie called her gems common.

I can't see any pair as a romantic one. It's a strange feeling, I'm not really a shipfag but something about certain character pairs (and only those involving Rarity) is really sweet and interesting and I like seeing them together. I liked it. Rarity decided she'd take a risk, and it didn't work out. AJ got carried away, which I found to be pretty relatable. When you're being praised for your talents or virtues, sometimes you can get swept away and go overboard. I can be a little too brutally honest myself, so I appreciated the moral here.

Also it was kinda nice to have a Rarijack episode where AJ was at fault instead of Rarity. It counterbalances Sisterhooves Social.

I loved seeing Rarity's passion for fashion, too. That's always refreshing.

I thought the new writer did a pretty good job overall. Only complaint is that the timing/pacing was a little rushed at times. Hopefully that trend doesn't continue, because that's a big turn off for me. One of the big reasons I started to appreciate this show was because it had good timing/pacing, and it'd be a shame if that went away.

It bothers me a bit that they've ditched the map altogether but I can't say I'm against it. We're back to smaller character driven episodes mostly just in Ponyville and I like that, even if it's not really the same as earlier seasons.

I bet the reason we're not getting any sort of arcs is that they had less time to work on this season. Hasbro kinda had them crank this one out. Jim admitted that that's the reason the premier wasn't a two-parter, and it may go deeper than that.

It's a wonder that the episodes are this good (so far) considering the time constraint AND the fact that they mostly only have newbie writers. Perhaps Kristine and Joanna really know what they're doing in their new role.

That's true, though some episodes here are pretty big, revealing parents for Dash and AJ and first ever episode about Twilight's parents, a lot of Celestia screentime. Even without something big they made sure this seasons has some relevant content.

I'd say the Lady Writers salvage a lot of it, we've yet to have a really shitty episode and I hope it stays that way. Even in "meh" ones there are some cute moments and interesting things going on and on top of that a lot of older things are mentioned and brought back. I think so far the execution and direction have pulled even dull plots from absolute drag to at least passable.

I've got no problems with Honest Apple, myself. I know a lot of people are tired of Rarijack, but I'm not.

Fluttershy Leans In was boring at worst, but noone was mischaracterized and there were no canon inconsistencies. It was a cute little episode.

For me, the biggest sin this season was Flurry of Emotions. The gags ended up being fairly entertaining, but the message killed it... You can't just talk to a baby like she's an adult, then let her off he hook for all the damage she caused. Yes, it was partially Twilight's fault for not giving the baby the attention a baby needs. But if Flurry can reason like an adult, she can take responsibility for her actions like an adult.

Also, taking a baby into a hospital room full of children with infectious diseases is horribly irresponsible. I guess we can assume Twilight casted a health bubble offscreen, but I'd like to have seen that detail onscreen.

Anyways, seems like the Lady Writers are on our side here. We're getting to see a lot of things we've been wanting to see. Parents, Celestia, more Zecora... And personally, I have been waiting for Photo Finish to return for years. I'm looking forward to what they have in store for us.

Seeing both Hoity Toity and Photo Finish again was really great. Not to mention Coco's been doing good. But for me the best thing about it was Rarity giving ponies a chance to shine now that she herself made it big. It's a spectacular thing to witness. I think it was a bit underplayed how important this is.

Not only her own dreams came true, she also wants to help others with theirs. It's such a wonderful thing, it's always the right thing to do and I really admire people who do that. Helping others find their place, digging up hidden gems and showing them to the world because she herself is in a pretty respectable position now. For me this is the ultimate payoff of success and I'm so happy that she does that now.

I think it's good it was underplayed though - the fashion show wasn't about Rarity, it was about the new designers. Rarity didn't brag or showboat, she genuinely wanted to let the others shine. And when it looked like it was going to fall through, she was so upset... It's not like she lost anything out of it. She cried at the destruction of others' dreams. She really believed in all this.

She really does have a beautiful heart.

Yes, the episode wasn't really about her but the great thing about it was that a lot of details tell that story. Just like she was so proud of Sweetie being all professional when she met the CMC in their treehouse. I'm really glad that we have that subtle layering, something that's not explicitely shown but easily picked up in the scene.

Her reaction to it all was so endearing, she just wanted to help them. She seemed pretty happy with all three of them winning, she was obviously hoping for that to happen.

Rarity being basically on the same level as Hoity Toity and Photo Finish is already such a big thing, I never quite realised how high she climbed. It's easy to lose track of this kind of progression and it's good that it's there. Now we just need Sapphire Shores back.

Yeah, she did rise pretty quickly, didn't she? Before, she was honored to even be graced by a visit with Hoity Toity or Photo Finish. She could barely even talk to them, and now they greet each other with a kiss. Good thing AJ didn't mess that up for her. A lesser friend would have done no more than apologize, but AJ really stepped up in fixing her mistakes.

We have had some Sapphire Shores. It was lovely to see her in For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils. Her little shoulder shake when she says "show me what you brought me!" was awfully memorable and cute. I'm always down for more of her though. Sapphire Shores/Coloratura tour when?

Photo Finish is my favorite of Tabitha's voices. After Rarity, of course. And after gravy boat.
