Damn, this is the first I'm seeing of it as I've tried to avoid spoilers, but if this is the kind of animation quality we can expect from the movie I think they hit gold when it comes to balancing fresh, high-quality movie assets with the old, familiar and beloved assets from the show.

Now I'm curious, seeing as they're apparently making brand new high-quality assets for the movie, will any of them be portable over to the regular show? I honestly thought the movie was going to be Equestria-Girls tier in animation.

I'm guessing not, since the show is still being animated in Flash at least as of Season 7, whereas the Movie is using ToonBoom Harmony. And I'm assuming it's a completely different group of animators since it's a very different skill set.

Season 8 has been confirmed though, I supposed it would be conceivable that they'd use the animators from the movie to make Season 8. But I'm guessing that the Harmony animation is also more expensive that good old Flash. So I dunno.
