Not entirely anyways. I don't have a sewing table anymore. Mother had to pick up a second job at home so I gave her the table. Shouldn't be much of a problem since the mane/tail are small enough to fit on the tiny desk I have. Since I am currently furloughed (laid off) of work, I have plenty of time to do it. Between games, piano, and procrastinating it's still difficult to get the motivation. I'm getting there though. I have a couple more months to finish sewing. Minky works pretty well if you want to not lube things up, but you really need to make sure the sleeve isn't too tight- first outside the plush then inside. You will absolutely hate it if it's even slightly too tight.

You can just ask for a minky pocket that fits the slimmer lower profile sleeves and they are small enough openings to also be barebacked, from expereince. There wasn't any extra room on the butt seam. I used all the available vertical space there was but it's still too small. The insert fits nicely but like you said the minky clings. The only way a toy works is to leave it inside the plastic housing but then it doesn't actually fit and sticks out the back of the pone. My Rainbow is made with an invisible zipper so things might fit a bit better.

That's correct. I used corn starch to help with appliqueing the eyes on my first lifesize. Just use plastic wrap around the toy, will insert just fine into either a minky or PUL pocket.

Just some thoughts on the inserts: I've noticed they work fine as long as you're dry. I tried satin in the past but it didn't work at all for me, but I lived in a very humid part of the country.

Design wise minky inserts have to be quite oversized otherwise they seem to cause pain in my experience. If they scrunch up or otherwise have too much pressure they will hurt. Toys feel better but are more work in general and require more work if you want to make them warm. I do both toys and minky inserts depending on my mood.

It was my first LS pone and I used the wrong kind of thread. I didn't know it at the time but I used a kind of embroidery thread instead of cotton. On my LS Rainbow that I'm working on, not only do I have cotton thread but the entire thing is triple stitched for maximum durability.

There's two ways to not be a pussy in this situation. The first is the tumblr way: take your plushie into a clothing store, try clothes on her, and if anyone says anything, tell them they can't judge you or your life choices.

It's hard to make any sort of direct comparison in prices. Lego and k'nex do completely different things when it comes to building. Lego is good for modeling, k'nex is good for function. Lego is extremely overpriced. e.g., the 3' long collector's star destroyer is now like $2,000 on Amazon last time I checked. Comparatively, a 6 foot k'nex ferris wheel was like $450. Lego looks awesome but k'nex has more use than being just display. Pic related.
