I'm not 100% on if its exactly the same fabric, but it feels quite similar.

About 55 inches from head to tail, But the head and tail are pretty big, I think hoof to hoof is around 40ish inches. So a little smaller than "standard" life size I think. I actually asked them to upscale it a bit but this was about as big as they could get it without going over box size for the international shipping.

Ok after first night of snuggles (it was great!) I have some questions for other large plush owners and/or makers. I have had a ridiculously comfy body pillow to snuggle with for the last year or so, so a lot of these observations/questions come from trying to snuggle/sleep with my plushie in the same fashion as that pillow (which obviously isn't really gonna work).

How soft/squishy is yours? For example, when I lay my head on the back of her head, it only squishes in a tiny bit. I can of course squeeze any part and have it squish, but it has a bit less give then a pillow for example (put your head on a pillow and it sinks in noticeably). How squishy can one get before it just flops around?

I found her slightly too "girthy" to wrap my legs around her midsection easily. She is smaller then an average LS though so is this an issue in general? Maybe a slightly different body shape would make it easier?

The eye sections are not cuddly, sometimes a great snuggle is lessened when I move around a little and end up with eye on cheek snuggle action instead of cheek on cheek. Do others have better materials? Or is the only solution here to go with small eyes or closed eyes? (Its plenty easy to work around, just happens sometimes)

I couldn't really lay "on" her like I would with a body pillow. Anyone have one that allow that a bit better? It was a combination of slightly too small lengthwise but waaaay to tall height wise.

In order to avoid a totally floppy pony, they have to be somewhat firm. The stuffing material will also dictate the firmness as the different grades or types of polyester fill will require more or less firmness to maintain a shape, and have a different feel for each. Each artist will stuff differently, and that can make a big difference as well.

A lot of people I know that have the full size laying down ponies (~50in long) seem to sleep with them like a body pillow- one arm under hooves, one over back, and put the horse's legs between theirs. It took me about 6 months to finally figure out how to sleep with my laying down pony, but I think that's because I never had a body pillow and I have 2 other standing ponies that I've been sleeping with for much longer. Alternatively you could probably spoon her to sleep.

You could request minky eyes, but I don't think your pony wants you to cuddle her eyes. After a while you don't notice it so much, and you generally learn to avoid touching them anyway- something that comes in time.

I don't think most creators will do shittier work for shittier pay, as it doesn't really speed the process up. Best bet for "cheaper" is to go with newer, unknown makers. They want exposure, you want horse, and it works out. You do take more of a risk here, though.

Went and bought a bunch of supplies today for fluttershy. Thread for the cutie mark, eyes, and seams.

Super excited, but because I'm a poorfag fabric will have to wait a little while, all this stuff was about 100$ on the dot.

But because I'm waiting I can also save up for another color of fabric, may make her some socks and a hoodie, suggestions are always welcome from you guys.

In all honesty I really wish I bought another wile I was in Joann's, but I can always get another.

I wanted to try out something a anon mentioned, but I wanted to make it more convenient to replace by making a separate pocket in the chest. They thought it would be cool to have a heartbeat like in those build a bear plush, and i personally love the idea.

Also i need to get working on altering the pattern in the OP to fit my own style, who knows i may just redo it all but it's a great guide honestly for someone like myself.

I've got a few laying-style ponies (two from neysa, one from agatrix). The Neysa Fluttershy is the firmest, but still has a decent amount of give, and the Neysa Derpy is quite soft and squishy. I prefer both in their own way that I'm not sure I can describe. In some ways I like Derpy more because of the squishyness that makes hugs amazing, but I also like Flutters because there is a firmness that lets me know she's there.

I'm a side-sleeper, so when I sleep with them I lay on my side and bring them close to me. I sometimes wrap a leg around one of their back legs because their barrel is too big for the leg to fit over that. I like that they're rather large, but still smaller than me (6'1") so they're the small spoon.

With respect to eyes I usually try to avoid that area because it's rough (like you mentioned) and prefer cheek-cheek contaact instead. Derpy and Fluttershy have embroidered eyes, but I have an applique flutters that isn't really any different in terms of comfort. I'd suggest just avoiding that area.

In terms of laying on top of them I avoid that because they're not meant to be cuddled that way and I worry that my weight would bust the seams (either immediately or eventually with repeated use).

I have one LS (from Agatrix) and she is rather stiff. But after several months of fun cuddling, I noticed she became a bit more soft and cuddly. However, within the first month or two, I busted a few seams and had to hand-sew then back up. Ironically, it was the machine-sewn parts that were weaker. The hand-sewing stays strong!
----> The weakest sowing areas to watch for are the mid-back spine, the inner-back thigh between her but and her knee; the hind-neck behind her hair (along the same line as her spine). Those are the places to watch for, as they are the major stress points.

Mine is smaller than average, too. It took me almost 6 months to figure out the best position, but I came to the same conclusion that this anon >>29432599 came up with.

I'll describe it in instruction-form (this is for side-sleeping with a semi-life size):

Step 1: Lay your pone on her side, with her front hooves resting snugly against (but not on!) your pillow. Her belly should be facing you.

Step 2: Climb into bed. Lay on your side, parallel to her, with your belly against hers.

Step 3: Raise her legs and flank; then "thread" your legs around them. Your legs should be pushed up around her mid-section.

Step 4: Rest your head half-way on her lower front hoof, and half-way on your pillow. That way, your pillow helps to "smoothen" out the curvature of her hoof.

Step 4 Alt: Alternatively, you can sleep on your pillow and have both her hooves smother your mouth/face. This can actually be quite cozy if she has socks. (Tip: Loosen the socks for added softness).

Step 5: Pull her as close to your body as you can, in order to create the most surface contact.

Step 6: Place your hands and arms around her. Place one arm below her front hooves/legs, and the other over her mid-section, resting against the back of her head. You can also just wrap your arms around her front legs; that works too.

It's seriously good. Here's a very crude MS Paint diagram trying to illustrate what I mean (not necessarily to scale, and results will vary based on individual body size/shape), but the overall effect is your plushie's forelegs will be squeezing back and exerting pressure against you, resulting in a firm, tight hug. You can loosen it by moving the rubber band further to the ends of the hooves.

Granted, this method works especially well with Tavi because she's anthro, so her arm-hooves offer more length and flexibility to work with; it's no doubt possible with a normal plush, but you may have to experiment a little more.

They're surprisingly punchy. I put Tavi's behind one of her breast implants, and can still feel it even while lightly hugging her, so it's still being felt through a block of silicone. However keep in mind that the deeper it is, the more the beat "disperses" throughout the body of the plush (so it will feel more like part of the body is beating, rather than an isolated part within), while if it's closer to the surface, you'll get a more focused pulse instead. Either way, it's powerful enough that you can feel it even when it's buried fairly deeply in the plush, so my suggestion is simply experiment with having it closer to the surface versus deeper inside, and see what works best for you.

Anyone have issues with tightness on your lewd plushies? I got a sugarstar for fun times with my new Twi, but between the sugarstar being pretty tight on its own and her buns squeezing the toy a little bit it makes it way too tight.

The toy barely fits in there and the end of it pokes out a bit, is that my issue? Its kinda scary for me to try to wiggle the toy in more with much force as I'm paranoid of busting a seam or something since i have 0 ways to fix it.

The liner reversal technique should help a lot then. In my experience, most of the resistance comes from the liner rubbing against the toy. Another neat thing to try is putting the toy in a sock after you put the saran wrap on it. This helps a ton with the toy warping as you insert it.

Unfortunately, you don't have that kind of peace of mind so I would err on the side of caution and contact your maker and just ask. I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Sugarstar is a very tight toy on it's own, so that's gonna be an immediate issue. I haven't noticed that my plushes add any extra tightness with it, but that might be because it's already very tight.

For your issue with the length of the toy, check if the pocket is scrunched up in the back with your hands- occasionally that will happen and it will make it downright impossible to insert anything if it does. Try wrapping most of the toy in plastic wrap (I see you said you covered the end) as that will make it much easier to insert and remove. If it still is too long your only options are to cut down the length of the sugarstar, deal with it, or get another toy. As a personal recommendation I would suggest the Mary if it will fit with your plush.

The lewd area on my first plush broke within a few weeks, but that's because I was inexperienced when I started out making them. I actually damaged it because of inserting and removing the toy (silicon was sticking to the PUL), however since using plastic wrap the pocket has stayed together for almost a year and a half now without getting any worse. One last thing, don't trust your PUL liner to be waterproof at the seams, clean up messes as soon as you notice them if they happen.

Ask for softer stuffing if you go with her, which I did based on things I've heard other owners say. Okay so Ive recently got one of those teddy bears with a sack of rice in it that you can microwave and put back inside it for warmth and let me just say its amazing.
