I plan to do a lot, these threads are just the preliminary stage, stage 1 starts when the new season starts (or when the movie launches, hoping that's not first though). stage 1 will be mostly lomited to /mlp/, and after a couple of months when everything is completed stage 3 will launch in the fandom as a whole, EQD will most likely not survive it, but we can rebuild.

as weird as it sounds, i really think this place could use more love and tolerance. thats not to say it needs to go full ponychan where everyone jerks each other off, but this place used to have a filter. some situations required a more delicate touch while others could be shit on at full force. we seem to have got ourselves stuck in "shit on everything full force" mode and that needs to be dialed back a dozen notches. content, situations, posts and happenings should be judged on individual merit rather than memeposted based on the hivemind. which as i said is stuck in shit on everything full force mode.

In my opinion all the generals should be on a schedule. By this I mean either waiting awhile before making a new thread after the old one dies, or only making a thread on certain days. A couple examples are the Content Creator thread and /MLP/ Plays. /sun/ also used to be fairly strict until it crashed. This solves two problems:

1. By waiting as long as possible between threads people are given a refresh period in which they can build up stories, art, discussion topics, and other stuff they can then dump cutting down on contentless bump posts.

2. Keeps the board from looking stale with the same threads over and over.

People should turn off their filters.

I was simply saying how I feel we need to feature more craft-based content (fan-animation, art, music, fics, etc) and less personality-based content (analysts, reactions, fandom personalities). But that's an entirely different topic and /mlp/ is somewhat different in their tastes.

So I guess to restate my answer in respect to the board I would say we need to balance out content (I guess) from having too much of one particular realm of content over another (ie too many CYOAs over music and art threads). But it's really hard to know what the best balance is and how to objectively support it.

Try reading the thread again, no one wants to remove all the other generals, just organize them.

One reason this is needed is that people stay in their general, and people that dont go into that general have no idea what goes on in that general, which results in the board getting divided and everyone just staying in their own little bubble. A major general will collect any info that people who dont normally go to that general may find relevant. One example is mlpPlays, normally most people dont go into that thread since most dont create music, so when they make a new album/song most of /mlp/ wont even know it, this info will be shared in the major general.

Another thing it would help with is with setting and communicating schedules for generals that may want to follow it due to lack of content, the content creator general is one example, people cant keep it alive 24/7 since there needs to be down time where people actually make content, if the major general shows a schedule where the new one should be made on Sundays, then people know to took for it on Sunday and post what they've done then.

The Major General would contain minimal content from the generals, just some meta info like thread links, description of the general, classifications like CYOA, or content generation, and then announcements that are relevant to people outside the general, like new content, or the completion of a story arc.
