>mfw I want to write a good equestrian pony greentext, but I don't have any writing experience.
everyone starts like that. just write something, many generals are starving for green
>>29022032
>Implying greentext requires the ability to wright.
>>29022032
just do what i do and write shitty green
>>29022032

>>29022074
Go to the strange waifu thread then. Do you have any idea how starved we are for OC.
>>29022032
You do realize this is an anonymous board right?
You can write and no matter how shit it is no one is going to know you wrote it.
As long as you don't post it to your pastebin until you know some people are fans you'll be fine.
>>29022032
>implying you need good writing experience to greentext
Thanks for the the laugh OP.
>>29022032
>Have entire mythos and worlds I've built up in my head for years on end, hundreds of thousands of words of writing potential, squandered by my lacking ability to articulate my thoughts onto paper
>Missed out on contributing during the golden age of pony fiction
You cannot even begin to understand my pain
>>29022032
To get experience, start by writing shit.
Write whatever idea you have, we wanna hear it, and can help you improve.
>>29022032
Just do it.
You know how you'll know you won't get any better. When you don't try.
Your first green is most likely gonna be trash. But that's okay. Most threads are actually quite welcoming to new writers and will give you pointers, albeit in a grumpy kind of way.
now fuck off and get to writing
>>29022032
Just do it and see how shit you are and hate yourself like everbody does.
>>29022040
>>29022062
Fuck you. There is amazing greentext out there!
>>29022182
Have you ever written them down? Maybe you'd be great at writing documentary books instead of prose.
>>29022517
I'm an illiterate and anti-social fuck who cannot replicate differing personalities and change his writing style to suit each character and mood.
My plots are the same adventure-action garbage with a hackneyed creativity which /tg/ would whipe the floor down with me.
I'm so talentless that the only artistic thing I have left in this world is to plan my funeral.
>>29022741
Welcome to the club.
>>29022741
So?
>implying any of us are better
The person who inspired me to write blows me the fuck out of the water.
But does that stop me? Hell no. I write so I could become better.
You need to do the same.
Just remember....
You might not have any talent now, but that can change.
>>29022032
Just start writing a random green in a greentext bait thread, that's how I started.
It's fun and gets you many (You)s.
>>29022884
>>29022897
And if enough Anons like your stuff, they'll make a shitty general for you with endless bumps and laments of, ">tfw writefag has abandoned us".
Good times.
>>29022032
I'm afairly decentgreentext writer and I use to be prolific, but I've since fallen off the wagon due to dwindling motivation. All you really need to be a writer around here is the willpower and determination to actually do it. My own may have faltered, though it's never too late to get started.

>Wanted to draw pone

>Get even more frustrated
This is true hell.

>tfw
>>29022523
Nope. Greentext fanfiction writers are like the amateurs of amateurs. Write in a real format.
>>29023085
Exactly. Stories should be presented through interpretive performance art, unless you're cool with having your work seen as pedestrian, but that's your call.
>>29023127
Unless your green costs peoples life it is simply not good.
>>29023085
nice b8 senpai
>>29022182
You're basically me.
I can confirm, the pain is real.
>>29022032
the talent is a lie
>>29022032
Most of these replies have the right idea, but it's a good idea to be working for something more specific than talent. I'd suggest starting with a smaller project, something attainable but not easy, and building up from there.
As a kid, I tried filling a notebook with a novel, and I did, and it was cringy and unreadable. Later, I tried to publish a hundred micro-stories on bargain-bin e-zines, and I did, and they sucked. Years down the line, the people who read me say that I'm pretty good. But if you'd told me as a kid that I had to start now and then the best part of a decade later I would be bearable, I might never have tried.
So look for something satisfying in the short-term, something that will make you feel like you've actually progressed somehow, and once you've made it, keep looking. Mathematically, you're guaranteed to write good pony green sooner or later.
Other non-standard advice: use your good ideas as much as possible instead of saving them because after you exercise your imagination enough they'll start showing up as needed, don't think anything you write will make the reader laugh/cry/etc unless it has the same effect on you, and never check your word count while you're still writing.I'm sure the Guild has a lot more relevant stuff to say, but I haven't posted there yet.
>mfw i want to write something but i remember i have a very bad english

The good thing with S2+ being so obnoxiously bad is that even the most mediocre work(S1) can come out as a masterpiece of excellence compared to anything Jayson Thiessen and Mike Vogel can vomit out of their autistic no-fun parody works.
>tfw you're a mediocre writer but the last two weeks you've filled a thread with daily updates of a story and people said they had fun reading it
i know it's good etiquette to suck a writefags dick but it still feels nice getting compliments
>>29022032
Just start writing and maybe you will get some good feedback
>>29022032
I'm learning how to draw only so I can make 4 things.
More sunbutt pics, pr0n, cool art of sunbutt's knights andpolice state propaganda. Like riot police standing in a firm shield wall with Celestia behind.
Doing bretty good, learning at my own slow pace.
>>29023028
Anon I've started bydrawing circles.
Every day or two for about 15 minutes.
That's it. I couldn't make a round circle and here I am, two months later drawing round circles and connecting them to create a pone.
>>29025252
Nothing a good written book and a vocabulary can't fix, but it's not enough to read it. You must understand and practice it.
I've seen latin foreigners with more talent for the english language than americans or even the british.
>>29026981
It's not entirely uncommon for any language to have non-native-tongue speakers more honed to it's style and grammar because they actively learned and studied it instead of 'just' taking it in during their childhood.

Took me a sec to realize you didn't mean that the guards all had shields with a picture of Sunbutt's butt emblazoned on them. But now that I've got that image in my head, I kinda wanna see it.
