Bullshit. That's the same as saying that the only reason to like the show is the fandom. That might be true for some people, and I admit that I hated season 6 so much that at this moment I'm more interested in the fandom than in whatever the show has to offer. But I loved 5 seasons of the show, and I'd have loved them even without the fandom, and there are many people who still love the show and would love it even without the fandom. You don't need a fandom to like something, and it's never too late to "get on" anything.

Im sorry to say it, but i fear you've joined the fandom a bit to late. Wether we know it or not, the fandom is slowly dying. 2012-14 were the golden age of MLP. We're on the decline as of now.
