Seems like a clash of mindsets

Let's start with circle A: i think that batch of hair is overkill, maybe remove it?
and like last time I have to point out the anatomy issues. there are a couple styles you can go with but let's start with the normal pony
The example provided in the pic shows the perfect design of a standard pony, I bet Vector will go unf on this one.
The green lines show how i would have done it (quick). a small circle for the upper body, a larger one for the lower. then i made the lower one a bit bigger, to give it the extra ass you were going for. (check the bluish lines)
Let's go for the most important mistake I think. check the small human i drew there. a and b are the same length. b starts at her pussy.
now check the orange lines, they represent a / b, the ending of line 1 is so low, that her lower body is simply way too short
I think you are making that mistake because you think that when a pony stands up it's lower body is only the legs.
And that's actually not far from the truth, the proportions for mlp style ponies are 2/3 upper - 1/3 lower
if we take this into consideration then it might seem like the proportions are fine. but the thing is that as humans we tend to feel more comfortable with
our own proportions, especially if you go into that kind of semi anthro style. For the mlp style the head is also too small. A small head again goes more into the direction of anthro / human like styles
mlp style proportions would have 1/3 head 1/3 body 1/3 legs
so this does not really fit any style. that's why it is creating this kind of weird feel. people expect either anthro or pony, it's a mix.
also the fluff in your original concept i thought to be a bit too low. I put it up higher.

Starlight was, like Twilight, born in the gentry. She was exceptionally talented in magic. Yet, the special treatment she got from her parents and her top-notch academic performance made her callous, spiteful, and egotistical.

So, when she participated in the tryouts for the Academy of Gifted Unicorns, she was offended at the banality of her assigned task: turning water into soda pop. Yet, the judges failed her, and she had to go to the normal Canterlot University with all the mediocre unicorns whom she felt superior to.

Yet, with a sharp tongue and a quick lie, she was able to get away with it scot-free; it was then that she got her cutie mark.

Ever since that day, as Starlight was forced into a life of mediocrity and obscurity when she felt entitled to become something grand, she stewed in anger and bitterness. She had come to blame her failures on fate, itself, and focused her anger on fate's most prevalent tangible embodiment: the cutie mark. Thus, she had made it her mission to destroy that concept of specialness that had tortured her for so long, by destroying all manifestations of it, whether they be mental, physical, or metaphysical.

I appreciated this. I decided to begin thinking of an alternative backstory myself. To do this, I read on figures like Mao Zedong to attempt first to understand a possible psychology.

The result? I came full circle. By sheer coincidence, I came up with the canon backstory, but the interpretation is a twist.

The first thing one must understand is that Starlight never actually believed in equality. It was a dialectical tool. What was her real motivation? What is gained by bereaving ponies in one's circle of their cutie marks? Power. But what type? Was it an upper hand in magical power that she sought? She had already had that. We must look at the resulting social dynamic she created and her position therein. An isolated town of ponies she's inculcated to have no aspiration, with nothing that would make them leave or change, a situation in which she is in control and can assure herself of the others' willful albeit ignorant subjugation to her social vision.

Now, what kind of life would cause her to want that kind of social web? Perhaps some abandonment issue convalesced with heavy control issues, an abandonment/control issue involving losing control of a friend due to something about a cutie mark.

She did believe in her philosophy. Her little bits where she talks to herself show this. Plus, she would have no reason to keep up the charade after she was kicked out of her town.

She saw herself as a vanguard of this philosophy, a way to convince herself that she should be the only one with a cutie mark.

She believed in this ideology with all her being. Was there some love of power and control? I don't doubt it one bit. But to say she didn't believe in her "Equalism" philosophy doesn't hold up. Was a good theory though mang.

Just wish we had a better backstory.
