I... sort of hate it. Yet it was also an enlightening experience that affected the way I think about things and provoked some strong emotional responses?

The main problem is ABYSMAL pacing. I mean, I thought I was verbose. But this thing is like 4x as long as Persona Quest. You get a mystery in the first chapter, and basically don't get the tools to answer the mystery until 75% of the way through. You basically don't even understand the rules until like chapter 3.

People like to say, "Oh it's actually secretly a fair play mystery! You can figure it out by the end of Chapter 4!" Except that's bullshit. No way could anyone figure that shit out without serious leaps in logic. And it's just so frustrating to be constantly wanting the answer to the first god damn mystery the game presents you, but just getting cockteased with it for over a million words of text.

There's basically a big revelation that makes everything fit together, but they hide it with some stuff that makes you think, "It can't possibly be _____ because we saw _____ at that time." but it was actually a really cheap deception. And there's also those "Red Truth" statements, some of which seem to contradict this theory unless you subscribe to a really narrow olympic-level mental gymnastics definition of what she says. Which I don't, and there was no indication of that being defined in such a way until Chapter 6.

That game frustrates the living hell out of me. But it does have some legitimately good and clever moments. The banter trying to figure out mysteries is fun, and it does have some good moments where you feel tricked in a fair manner.

Like a part where a character basically tells you "I am going to do this thing and trick you utterly!" And you're like "Do you think I'm retarded? I'm not going to fall for that if you tell me you're doing it." And then she does it and you fall for it and you realize you are retarded.

That's pretty much exactly what it is. So many people talk this up like it's the greatest visual novel of all time. If that's the case, Visual Novels must universally be trash.

I get what people like about it. It HAS good parts. But it doles them out to you so slowly. At points, I was actually hitting the fast-forward button because I was that fucking bored with the repetitive dialogue of pointless bullshit characters I didn't give a shit about.

Furthermore, everyone in that story is an asshole who deserves to die except for Jessica. She's a good tsurupettan.

But maybe people would enjoy it more if they know what to expect. As much as I hate the phrase "overhyped", the clash between what you expect and what you get can sometimes cause you to enjoy something less. Maybe if you have your expectations properly tempered, you will be able to enjoy it more.

It will be long, the dialogue will be quite verbose, the plot will not stay focused on the mystery as it likes to really explore the lives of all the characters outside of the story whether it's relevant to the mystery or not, there will be a lot of supernatural scenes which you need to understand are basically just a proposed reality that exists only in absence of a logical explanation for the events, and stuff that happens in them may not be accurate, but usually at least hold some kind of symbolism, the game will try to tell you several stories at once including ones in a possibly alternate future which aren't as interesting but are still slightly relevant, only things that the main character explicitly sees and comments on can be trusted as everything else is potentially unreliable narration, and you will not figure out any of the mysteries until chapter 6.

Yeah it's a tall order. But if you have crazy amounts of free time to read shit and are okay with taking weeks or even months on a mystery, maybe I'd say give it a try.

Absolutely recommend MGQ though. 100% worth your time if you're into that high impact sexual violence with Monster Girls. I am tinkering about what does Indigo Zap's persona should look like. Its identity is Mitra, the God of Partnerships from Vedic myth. Indigo's personality in my headcanon herself is

So you're running Persona 1 and 2 elemental rules, then.

As for design, both Mitra and Indigo are living under the shadows of their better, more popular counterparts. To the point where they essentially are them-lite.

I would imagine Mitra with Lightning Dust's colors, and sort of an imperfect facsimile of a sports-centered Persona. Perhaps with some gears and mechanics sticking out which belie Zap's true talent.

Varuna would probably then be more mechanical in nature, switching Lightning Dust's colors for Indigo Zap's, showing her willingness to stand on her own and make an image for herself.

That's what I think, at any rate.

Wish I knew a bit more about Vedic mythology. It's going to be a... water based persona? It's hard to be sure what element you're going for. My initial instinct is to suggest something with ropes, since as a god of partnerships it seems fitting for something that "connects", and also serves as a method of attacking. I think it's okay to get a little abstract and less human-like given how Varuna looks in the games. Since the two are closely related, maybe make Mitra mostly gold and rounded with silver highlights, then have Varuna be a more angular silver creature, similar to this but not exactly the same, perhaps give him chains instead of ropes.

That's just off the top of my head. Also, did you ever pick a Key, kul?

At the end of the story, after Anon gives up his existence to allow Luna to return to the world and defeats Nyarlathotep, each of the Mementos Anon collected from the Max Rank Events becomes a key that allows the "heart" of one of those readers to return to Equestria in the epilogue as a copy of themselves. Sort of a "put your name in on the high score board" endgame reward thing.

So far, all keys have been claimed by readers except for the Magician Key.

Srimati (Sunny) is the consort and is the feminine aspect of Khrisna from certain branch of Hindu myths, while Kleshas (Sour) is the Buddhism concept of troubled mind and uncertainity. So far, only Sunny is finished, but maybe I'll retouch her again when I had the time
