Synopses:
Part 1 β In this first part, Starlight Glimmer discovers a plot by one of Equestria's oldest and greatest threats and must assemble an unlikely team of heroes to save her friends.
Part 2 β In this second part, Starlight Glimmer leads an unlikely squad of heroes against Queen Chrysalis and the changelings to save her friends and all of Equestria.

It was silly to try and contain the FIM fandom anyway. Not the MLP fandom, but the FIM one. Most people here don't wanna talk about G1 or G3 after all. It's only one show and a few comics. Pokemon at least has two anime, dozens of manga, and dozens of video games. FIM only has so much to discuss and much of the fandom probably moved on already. I barely even see pony stuff on Tumblr anymore.

It's just rushed bullshit and it kinda ruined the changelings for me. Glimmer just says "Have you like tried to not be dicks?" and suddenly every single changeling is reformed and looking like a flaming faggot. No villain song, no real climax, it's just so anticlimactic.
The first part of the episode is hilarious, the adventure in the second is great too and this could've been an amazing finale, but the ending kills it.

Rating on how much I've enjoyed it, 9.5. Objectively, probably a bit lower, there were some things did didn't make sense or could have gone better.
What was the Changelings' plan with the Fluttershy clones? Okay technically it worked but tactically it didn't make sense.
Thorax got cured of his evil because he shared love, it just kind of happened to the others. The way Chrysalis was beaten didn't work for the same reason.
Aside from that, this finale was great. I really hope they maintain this level of quality, contrary to the premier.

It was great. I liked it. The first episode was awesome, but it was a setup for the finale, not the actual finale.
The second one was good and decently done. However, Deus Ex ending looks heavily out of place.
I kinda don't like how had they portrayed Crysalis. It's great to have a consistent villain, but MLP usually tried to avoid the whole "bad for the sake of being bad" thing. And seeing how Season 6 had touched a lot of more mature undertones, it was a great possibility to hint on more positive Crysalis traits - she's a mother after all. I hope it'll be an opportunity for the next time.

Weirdly enough, it was one of the few times that I actually had no idea how it was going to end. I loved the group's interaction with each other and none of it felt a bit forced. There were barely any cliches and when there were, they pointed it out and acted a bit smarter than your usual children's cartoon characters. Reminds me of a single Gumball episode. Out of all the things in the episodes, the worst had to be the WHOLE hive suddenly giving up without any dialogue for Thorax or against their mother. Not too keen on Thorax's and the reformed changelings' new designs either. At least Chrysallis got away instead of instantaneously becoming good.
Great episodes, horribly paced solution.
I don't regret waking up 12 in the evening for this.

So terribly sorry for posting during the aftermath of the finale. There were certain issues to attend to that were rather out of my control, which unfortunately ran into most of the beginning time. But hey, that's life for you. It's unpredictable in its actions.
And you of all people would know about the uncertainty of the future, wouldn't you? After all, who would've ever foresaw a sheer exponential up-rise in My Little Pony fans? Who would've ever considered that several websites, let alone a single board, would be fabricated in the name of discussing a show for little girls? Who would've thought that people desired intercourse with cartoon horses? Maybe somebody, somewhere did.
But regardless, let us not forget the aspect of unpredictability. At this point, the status of both the show and its fans is reliant on this concept. The show depends on the belief that hoards of both young children and putrid neckbeards will bend to their whim and buy all the merchandise they can. At the same time, the fans still expect the show to have some semblance of taste to it.
It doesn't help none that the early airing of the finale (another unforeseen event) killed discussion for today and left many disgusted with the show even more. And that's just disregarding the Equestrian Girls saga. I believe it is safe to say that for the first time in the show's history, the episode was universally considered as shit, even before it officially aired on American television. And that there is a travesty to the show.
But hey, there's still a few years ahead of MLP. Will those seasons turn out to be surprisingly spectacular, or will they be even more abhorrent, flanderized, and rehashed than now, effectively killing the gen? Only time and uncertainty will tell.
But be prepared for shit either way.

8/10 Pretty decent
The character interaction between Starlight, Trixie, Thorax, and Discord was great, it really makes the episodes fun. The story is pretty well-done too, however it could have benefited from explaining how they all got captured so easily (I think "They were sleeping" would already be enough as they don't generally seem to take a lot of precautions and I'd believe the bugs could take out a couple of unexpecting guards) and taking a little more time for the changelings to be convinced, as well as having some of them not transform and stay with Chrysalis or even cover her escape to make that more plausible. Overall the pacing was better than in other two-parters, though.

9/10 Rushed ending, as usual, but really good. Glad Chrysalis is going to return with a dastardly plot to ruin Starlight's life some day, and I kind of dig the new Changeling designs. Eh, to me it seems like a pretty fitting artifact for this kind of universe, and it never being mentioned makes sense too since the show never exactly talked about the changelings' home except for that explanation by Thorax in his first episode. As for there being other uses for it, well, the things gigantic and maybe couldn't be worked by changelings in any way.
A magical artifact in a magical world just seems to be run-of-the-mill fantasy stuff to me, and it's not even that convoluted. I mean, the Elements of Harmony are almost more convoluted than this throne.

The ending would have been so much better if they had just 2-3 more minutes to spend on the changelings struggling to decide and if only Thorax changed because he's the only one who ACTUALLY made friends (I like their new designs tho). However, I am hoping that Chrysalis will come back with a faction of unreformed changelings and they have a civil war. It's totally possible she still has spies left throughout Equestria (maybe beyond?). Even so, this has some of the best character interaction in the whole series and is one of my favorite 2-parters. This season was feeling pretty mediocre, but the last string of episodes, especially Top Bolt and this really saved it for me. I'll HYPE for season 7.

Why does it necessarily need to be known? Maybe the changelings just found it some day, and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want everyone to know about your neat defense system. Also since it prevents non-changeling magic, it would be a little useless in Equestria with an area of effect that big, since no unicorns would be able to do anything magical at all.
As for origins, well, maybe the changelings don't know where it's from either? Isn't the interesting thing about artifacts that you don't know everything about them? Take any magical artifact in a fantasy story, most of them aren't explained right away, some even never. It adds to the atmosphere. Admittedly, this artifact is probably not going to be explained further in this show, but that's not really what the show is about anyways.

I thought it was pretty great, one of the better adventure episodes the show has done.
It used all of the secondary character really well and I thought the design of the Changeling hive was pretty rad.
The only reason I could see for someone to dislike it was that the normal crew didn't get a lot of screen time.

To me the episodes where great and all but then they ran into a thing that has been popping up alot in season 6 and which has been irritating me and that is ther quick resolving of the episodes problems in the last minutes of the episode.
It is doubly irritating as some of the writers in this season have been able to pace the episodes alot better and seasons finale would have imrpoved alot with better pacing.

I don't know, on the one hand it was the magic of friendship and/or love manifests and saves the day thing again, which I didn't like the first time they used it to beat Chrysalis. But on the other hand Starlight basically used her +10 persuasion skill to incite a revolt against the Queen which I did like.
Changeling civil war between the old way and the new is a concept that they could have devoted a long story arch to; but since they wanted the story resolved in two episodes I think they did the best thing they could.
The only improvement they might have made for this two parter is if they focused more on the fact that the other changelings had heard about Thorax and his example had already gotten some of them thinking about abandoning Chyrsalis' warlike philosophy.

Only thing I disliked was the Changeling transformation. I know most here seem to like the design, but I thought it was a bit cheap personally. Don't get me wrong, the designs are fine, but I really would've preferred it if changelings didn't have to be "Cuddlified" in design to be accepted, as well as having ponies and changelings having to learn to understand and accept each other while evolving their past relationship as host and parasite into a symbiotic relationship.
That's just me though, episode was good and the new designs aren't bad per see, just personal dislike for personal reasons really.

The Finale was great but in alot of Season 6 episodes ending the episode has been a problem, like the writers have noticed when they wrote the episode "oh shit we wrote all these cool things but we don't have ending thought about it yet" and then they crammed some fast ending to resolve the conflict in the last 2 minutes of the episode. There are also episodes in S6 where the pacing is fine like Saddlerow Review, so they have writers that know how to pace a 22 minute episode.

I think fitting it all in to the time they had was a definite issue. Some episodes its obvious where they could have trimmed, in this one I'm not so sure. Both episodes moved pretty briskly and the first one ended in the logical place with them looking at the changeling fortress that they'll have to assault in the next episode.
I suppose they could have stretched it to three episodes, since these two were so jam packed. Add in some more material about Thorax's influence fomenting revolution, about Chrysalis considering him a threat and maybe even have a few other changelings join their cause and get captured before the final confrontation. And maybe add in some flashback scenes of them taking down Celestia/Luna/Twilight/Cadence/and the rest of the gang.
