I can't be the only one who's pissed off that she's hardly in the show. She doesn't have to have an important role in every episode, but if she's supposed to be a student of friendship why is she not around learning lessons? Her position in 'The Times They Are a Changeling' was great. She had little investment in the episode, as many lines as some of the side characters but, most importantly, at the end of the episode she'd made a remark about learning a lesson. And what's weird is that TTTAAC was written by new writers, like they understood Glimmer more than the current writers.

I would love some hints of her studies once in a while. It doesn't have to be the B-plot, but some lines or backgrounds with her.
In the end she is really creative and intuitive, she just needs some directions to unleash her potential. I don't think she is as powerful as Twilight, since Twily is an alicorn, so no epic showdown of 2 beams of power clashing, she can just outwit and dodge Twilight, like she did in the season 5 finale.

So I disliked Starlight for the longest while, and finally decided to jump in and read a story to give her a chance, just to see if my opinions would change

I just got done reading Starlight, Twilight and Anon's Redemption by Gritsaw, and let me tell you, it was not a good first impression. That was honestly one of the shittiest stories I've read since My Little Dashie. Don't get me wrong, it was a good prompt and started strong but halfway through the story it became the laziest writing I've ever seen, and near the end it nearly literally became a Scooby-Doo crossover fixfic. Most bullshit turn of events I've ever seen. The writer was able to give a good feeling for the scenery, and I was able to envision it as kind of a movie, especially with their choice of musical selection, but it fell short of my expectations, which honestly weren't that high seeing as its fanfiction we're talking about here

Overall, the plot, although good near the beginning, turned out to be Damage Control Central, which detracted from the story, not to mention the author's questionable choice of events. The characters were written wildly out of their personality, namely Twilight when she bullies and antagonizes her student, Starlight Glimmer,. The actual description I found was supplemented nicely by the addition and selection of music

The story was just too far fetched for me, and felt way too different near the end when compared to the beginning. I'd go far as to say if taken out of context it'd seem as if they were two different stories entirely

5/10. It scored extra points for the music

That's just my opinion. Take it with a grain of salt and form your own, and don't judge by word of mouth, let alone the ramblings of a shitfaced anon
